Another One Click Root Method Available [3/26]

C:\Users\*******\Desktop\sdk\platform-tools <-- is exactly what I'm typing, except replace the *'s with my name.

And do I maybe have to redownload the drivers since I wiped my phone clean now? Idk what "device offline" would mean. I mean, it's on, in Hard Disk mode, and debugging is on. Exact same circumstances as before when I started.

Your drivers should still be ok.

What part in the batch file are you typing the file path in? You should only have to type that the one time at the beginning.

Oh, I am at the beginning. I got it to not give an error, but now the numbers being read are ending in "605.10" which isn't one of the numbers that it says are ok to root (605.5, 605.9). It was 605.5 on the other attempt, lol.

Went ahead and said yes anyways. Since I feel like I know what to do this time, I'll let you guys know how (full) attempt number 2 goes.

Ok, so right now you're running the old, downgraded version. The one that was PG05IMG_downgrade.zip or RUU*.zip.

What happened with the batch file you were running? It should have still been doing some things after you got into that older version.

Ok, make sure to read what the batch file says carefully as you go along. I remember there were a couple times when I had to reread something in there to make sure I was doing everything I was supposed to.

Stuck at the same point.

"We will now attempt to gain root access... if it takes longer than 30 seconds, you probably forgot to turn on debugging!"

Well debugging is on, I swapped the RUU_ngiruewblngre.zip file for the actual PG05IMG.zip, and it's on Hard Disk mode. 15 minutes later, it's still at the same line of text.

Try putting it on charge only mode and see if that makes a difference.

I was just typing up how exhausting this is starting to get when the window came to the front of my screen and was throwing text at me... Looks like I got past the step. That's weird though. It took 20 minutes lol.

Phew...

Yeah, from everything I've read so far, adb can be finicky.

It's all going smoothly now... Looking good. I'm in bootloader mode again, and waiting to apply the update it says to let apply.

Ah..good. Few things when you're done. Superuser will not be installed... download it from the market....Superuser by chainsaw.
Download Rom Manager and back up your rom... rom manager>backup current rom>restore>backup>nandroid backup.
If you have trouble with gaining superuser permissions for certain apps like Titanium Backup or Rom Manager... just reboot your phone and it should work.

Got it. Restarting now. How can I get back all the apps I had before? I thought they saved to your Google account, but they haven't auto DL'd like last time my phone wiped itself. >.>

How do I reboot into recovery mode? It says I have to do that in order to update SU.

Can't get 3G/1X to work now. Awesome... So much for that.

Yeah, didn't work. ROM Manager isn't working, as well as Titanium Backup. Are you kidding me? There wasn't one thing saying that a step failed. I'm so mad right now I don't even know how to express it. Wow...

I'm probably just gonna punch my phone into pieces and get a new one. That's healthy enough... Lol

If you do have superuser installed, go to titanium backup, click problems, and then get busybox. That should help.

Tbolt did you download Superuser? That's the first thing.

Yes, that was the first thing I did. Then it was stuck saying it needed to update, but couldn't get access except through rebooting into a certain mode, which I never could get access to.

Titanium backup wouldn't work. It couldn't get superuser permissions at all, even after reboots and attempts at updating su.

The only thing that seems to be different is the software number I'm stuck with now, and its the wrong one to be able to root, and I can't get it to change back from a factory reset.

If you need to get into the bootloader, power down the phone. When you power it on, hold one of the volume buttons while it powers on and it will go to the bootloader. What is superuser asking you to do in the bootloader?

In Titanium backup, you have to click on "Problems?" and then "Get BusyBox" for it to work. (I know...another thing that wasn't in the guide)

In settings --> about phone --> software information, what is your software number?
