I'll try it tonight as soon as I'm home, and let you know how it goes. The good news is that I feel confident enough to do that now. >.> haha
Sounds good...that's a good way of looking at it

I was having trouble getting the Mac to recognize my phone. I just used this method today along with studying Cory's great Mac instructions and I am now finally rooted. It feels good to have all that crap off my phone finally.
What do you mean by that?
Is that with the redownloaded version of PG05IMG.zip?
Yes. Redownloaded, and re-copied. Old "corrupted" version is completely deleted off of the SD and out of the ...sdk\platform-tools.
Lol, just found this... Gonna try it out I guess.
[WARNING] Do not downgrade to 1.0xxxxx after root. - xda-developers
It appears to be the same files that are downloading, but I suppose it's worth a shot coming from a different link.
I don't think you need to resort to that yet because you don't have the security warning, as you didn't load the older firmware over any custom roms. That's where you can get into trouble.
I just figured that would be the stock software, and that it would bring me back to where I needed to be. But I'll try what you said above for now.
Am I just pushing anything that is a type: file in the platform-tools folder over to my phone now through adb?
Ok, I'm up to the bootloader and letting it do the loading/checking.
Hopefully I'll see an update...
Edit: Heyyyy! I got the update for .zip number one! Hopefully I'll have as much luck with the original PG05IMG.zip lol
Updating is good![]()
So is seeing a Feb 23 2011 near the top of my screen. And that it's updating again under it!![]()
Cory Streater said:> adb shell mount -o remount,rw -t ext3 /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 /system
At that step, I think something went wrong. After the copy/paste right before that (adb shell /data/local/psneuter) I let it "restart in a second or two" and then tried the shell mount ... step above. It said "Error: Device not found." And now I can't install the superuser.apk. So close... v.v
Try starting again from the "adb devices" right before those last commands.
Everything worked fine up until I pasted in adb shell /data/local/psneuter
I got this message after hitting enter for that line:
mmap() failed. Operation not permitted
Maybe try rebooting the phone and then starting again from that "adb devices" ?
Tried that just now. I got up to the adb shell /data/local/psneuter, and there was no message like the other times where it said it would restart in a few seconds. So I waiting about 30 and then continued with the commands. Can I just install su from the market, or do I HAVE to finish this way now?
