Another One Click Root Method Available [3/26]

I was having trouble getting the Mac to recognize my phone. I just used this method today along with studying Cory's great Mac instructions and I am now finally rooted. It feels good to have all that crap off my phone finally.
What do you mean by that?

with the adb method if something goes wrong you can always go back a step in here u really cant,, lets say by mistake u forget to add the PB file and press continue ur ****ed!

I'm getting a "No image!" and "No image or wrong image!" message when I'm in the bootloader. Is that supposed to happen? lol

Edit: And I'm still not getting it to update after it goes through the checks in bootloader mode. Also still sitting on the same software number.

Yes. Redownloaded, and re-copied. Old "corrupted" version is completely deleted off of the SD and out of the ...sdk\platform-tools.

Try using Cory's walkthrough, http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...ocedure-how-root-thunderbolt-adb-windows.html, starting from "Enter or copy/paste the following adb (without the >) lines in the command window:" a few lines after the first dancing android guys.

Open up a command prompt, navigate to the c:\users\***\desktop... folder where adb.exe is, and then start from "adb devices."

So,
> adb devices

> adb push busybox /data/local/
> adb push psneuter /data/local/
> adb push wpthis /data/local/
...

It'll be a lot of typing, but should work well. It'll be easiest to copy/paste the commands in there to make sure you don't have a typo.

I don't think you need to resort to that yet because you don't have the security warning, as you didn't load the older firmware over any custom roms. That's where you can get into trouble.

I just figured that would be the stock software, and that it would bring me back to where I needed to be. But I'll try what you said above for now.

Am I just pushing anything that is a type: file in the platform-tools folder over to my phone now through adb?

Just busybox, psneuter, and wpthis for now. You also have a type:file "su," but that'll be used later.

The guide is pretty good...you just have to make sure to follow it closely (one note at the top is to not type in the ">"...he used that to denote when you're typing something into the command prompt).

Ok, I'm up to the bootloader and letting it do the loading/checking.

Hopefully I'll see an update...

Edit: Heyyyy! I got the update for .zip number one! Hopefully I'll have as much luck with the original PG05IMG.zip lol

Updating is good :)

At that step, I think something went wrong. After the copy/paste right before that (adb shell /data/local/psneuter) I let it "restart in a second or two" and then tried the shell mount ... step above. It said "Error: Device not found." And now I can't install the superuser.apk. So close... v.v

Try starting again from the "adb devices" right before those last commands.

Everything worked fine up until I pasted in adb shell /data/local/psneuter

I got this message after hitting enter for that line:
mmap() failed. Operation not permitted

Maybe try rebooting the phone and then starting again from that "adb devices" ?

Tried that just now. I got up to the adb shell /data/local/psneuter, and there was no message like the other times where it said it would restart in a few seconds. So I waiting about 30 and then continued with the commands. Can I just install su from the market, or do I HAVE to finish this way now?

You should be able to install su from the market. I think that's what I did...

You will probably have to do the other commands associated with "su" though.
