any battery life issues after JB OTA?

It appears as of now the factory data reset has solved the problem. The phone is acting like it used to before the jelly bean update. I also checked to see if I had any app updates but it looked like everything was up to date. I'll keep all that in mind in case it starts acting weird again. Thanks for your "creative Googleing." I appreciate everyone's help on these forums.

Does the Media entry show up in battery stats? AFAIK, it should not under normal circumstances. If it's gone hopefully the problem is too.

It's not gone but it's at what I feel is a much more acceptable level.

I hope someone else can provide more information on it. I've never seen that before on battery stats from Honeycomb through Jellybean. I don't think it should be there.

I would still be very curious to see what happens if the SD card is unmounted and removed, in case there are media files on the SD card that are somehow being accessed, perhaps by some remnant service that didn't get deleted with the rest of the Moto bloatware.

could be that an app trying to sync/repopulate its library...did have this problem but its been gone for a while...might have been when I did an unmount and mout of SD Card...not sure...

I can run it without out the SD card for a day and let you see what happens, matter of fact that's what I'll do on Sunday.

I know this might be a crazy question, but running apps from the amazon app store shouldn't pose a battery or general phone risk right?

No, you're fine. Amazon is supposed to vet their apps pretty well.

Gotta say, though, that 20% down after 20 hours is pretty darned good.

After factory reset and playing with it constantly getting settled back into my phone, I haven't really looked at the battery useage app to analyze it officially.
I know I took it off yesterday am about 7 and was using it pretty consistently all day, heavy use...text/phone/FB/ web surfing some..up until 1 am while I was at a school function for my son, and I went to bed with 20% left. That was with screen full on.
So, it's pretty darn good.

B. Diddy, look for the no sd card report later tonight.

Hey friend...what's that calendar app running in your status bar? I like that.
Has day only on there.

Its not a calendar app its called "Power Toggle"...you could change the notification icon to show date or battery %...

Power Toggles is friggin awesome. It really ought to come standard on all Android phones--it certainly is light years better than the stock Power Control widget.

Wow... I already use power toggles and didn't know it did that. LOL.
I like that much better.
Thanks!
