Any Devs working on bluetooth issues

I only have one option under BT settings for each device - phone audio.

I've had the same problems with every rom I've tried on Froyo. Perhaps a phone wipe and start from scratch will fix whatever is going on. Not looking forward to it but whatever it takes.

Something got cussed along the line....you should have for Phone AND Media if you long press the device, and select options..

Do you not have this?

If not then something got wonky...and to my knowledge, which is limited compared to some of the other people on here, a clean slate may be an option..

What was the genesis of your rooting? Did you install a ODIN package from DroidX?

I only have the Phone Audio option. The Media option does not show up.

My current setup was an Odin flash from DroidX. Also tried CWM of SC 2.9.2. If I recall my first non-stock build was one of DroidX's original Odin packages back in the EB01 days.

I used the FascinateRoot_v02 as my first root. Then the DroidX Odin package after that.

You might also check to make sure there are three Bluetooth.apk's in your system folder via astro or file manager

There is also a ODIN package for 2.9.2 that will not wipe data. You might try that as well...

I've been having the exact same problems with my car's Bluetooth. The phone will connect, and I'm able to stream audio, but whenever I make or receive a call the connection breaks and my phone sometimes locks up. The only time I was ever to make my bluetooth work perfectly was running dl30 rom with the dj05 modem. Anything newer than that gives me issues.

I would flash the stock EB01 and see what pops up in the menu. If you bought TiBu or my backup then you'll have no sweat getting back up and running. My reservations with all of the non-stock roms is I feel like a lot of stuff gets tossed out all willy-nilly. I wish I knew how to build roms because I would totally do it. (Not bashing the developers, some stuff just get removed from every build I see and I can't figure out why.)

Good word...however, it just doesn't make sense that some running 2.9.2nv have the bt capabilities, no problemo, and some don't. If something with bt got removed I think there would be problems across the board for everyone..

I think starting from scratch would be the best bet...and +1 to going to the stock EB01 build. After that I would check the bt capabilities BEFORE restoring a backup, and confirm they work, then restore a backup and recheck.

Apparently ever sense BWOE went to froyo he has had problems..so something tells me something in that original conversion didn't take or royally cussed something up with his bt.

Start with a clean slate, and see what happens..

Here is what I have done over the last day:

Odin flash EB01DB_DXC.tar from DroidXCon
No media option under bluetooth device profile
Did some quick tests, seems to work, no drops of BT connectivity

Odin flash EB16SC29_DXC.tar
Still no media option under bluetooth device profile
Did some quick tests, seems to work, no drops of BT connectivity

CWM to upgrade to SC 2.9.2
Still no media option under bluetooth device profile
Did some quick tests, seems to work, no drops of BT connectivity

Restored Apps using My Backup Root
Checked all apps to make sure that they are configured and work
Problem came back. Quick testing of BT results in connectivity drops.

Deleted Contacts - I remember reading a thread about a corrupted contact affecting BT - it's a stretch but what the ....

Now to figure that out...

Awesome, I'm glad you got it narrowed down.

You did wipe your cache between each of these steps right up to reloading your backup?

Still kinda puzzled why you don't have a media option under your devices....

Yes to the cache wipe questions.

Here is where I have landed for a solution. It seems that as long as I do not allow my GM car to download my phonebook, my BT works just fine.

What is wierd is that if I allow the car to download, BT has issues not only with my car but also my Plantronics. No explanation for that other than there must be some pretty interesting communications between the car and the phone.

This may relate to the size of my phonebook. I do have over 1500 entries. By the way, I never actually downloaded anything to the car as it can only download google contacts not touchdown. This is due to the group in the contacts. TD creates it's own group which does not appear to be downloadable.

Thanks all for the help. I think I am good for now.
