Any regrets getting this phone?

No regrets. I think all Android 12 across the map on all devices were buggy. All blame is on Google not the pixel 6. The pixel even though it was a buggy mess was still a great experience with the camera and greatly improved video capabilities.

I agree.

I've had the Seafoam Pixel 6 since the first part of November, and haven't had any problems ... so, of course, no regrets. I use the Microsoft Launcher, and am on Verizon.

I didn't initially, but after the December update debacle, Google disabling the call screening, and the signal issues, my faith is starting to wane. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Pixel fan, but this isn't a good look.

I agree with metstang. I liked my Pixel 3 and still use my 4XL. With Samsung and other manufacturers inching ever closer with improved camera hardware and computational software, the reasons for buying a Pixel are indeed waning. I bought the 512gb Pixel 6 Pro to play flac files from my cd collection. There is a bug that prevents you from bypassing the internal dac. Google won't acknowledge it or probably fix it. Maybe I'll change my mind if they promptly fix all the issues, but if not, this will probably be my last Pixel.

I wouldn't write off the Pixel yet. It's still fairly new and was a heavy lift to release a whole newly redesigned OS on a newly designed, custom chip set, at the same time. Google probably should have tested it more before release, but they wanted it released by their target date, so here we are. I doubt a company with as much money as Google is going to risk all this in the massively redesigned Pixel, announcing they want to compete in the Flagship phone category, only to get a massive egg omlet on their faces with Samsung ready to eat their lunch, so I have confidence they will sort all this out soon.

BTW, I am a music fan and hate bad fidelity in electronics these days. My LG G4 was never great sounding played through my old, 1970s Pioneer analog equipment, and I take it from your desire to bypass the Pixel's DAC, it's not either?

Yes, I like music and consider myself somewhat of an audiophile. I currently still have an LG V40 I'm using without sim as my portable music player. Normally, you could subscribe to Tidal and also play stored files on your phone using a player like USB Audio Player Pro that allows you to bypass the phone's dac. Hopefully, Google will fix it, but since audiophiles comprise a very small percentage of users, they may just ignore it.

I might change my mind. The only thing bothering me is the lack of transparency from Google. Time will tell I guess.

I don't blame you for still rocking your LG V40. An amazing device.

One UI definitely isn't for everyone! I thought I'd dislike it too but I actually loved it!

Different but not that different to make it unusable. Just takes some learning. I used one UI 3.1 on that two-day S21U I had, but to be fair, I had been using Android 12 on my Pixel for about two months so jumping back to Android 11 with one UI 3.1 was like a double whammy to the brain.

That would be a double-whammy, for sure!

My pixel 3XL is running 12, my Z Flip 3, which I haven't set up yet, will be running 12 with one UI 4.0, my secondary line is running Android 9, my 10 inch tablet is running 8.1, my back up pixel is running 10, and my Moto X Pure Edition that I just can't get rid of, and still sync my Fitbit with, is running Android 7. I also have an 8 inch tablet I sometimes fire up to sync my old fitness watch with that is running Android 4.4 KitKat. Variety is the spice of life they say lol.

I actually like using the different OS versions on a daily basis... It's interesting to see how things have changed :p

One UI has definitely improved over the old TouchWiz days. Now One UI is a solid interface with a lot of good features. Features that takes years to be built into Android.

On the flip side there were a lot of features that I didn't care for on One UI and some head-scratching design decisions. But the days of 'Samsung UI is bad' are over. Google's UI has regressed with Android 12. But if I had to choose, I'd still pick Google's UI slightly over Samsung's. Hardware though - I'd easily pick Samsung's.

Did they change something on the Pixel 6? The DAC on the 3XL was built into the dongle adapter

Swapped out my P6P for an S21 Ultra 5G this afternoon...

I won't get swept up in the Pixel hype again. What a sham... I mean shame.. I mean both! Lol

No more regerts here!
