I'm so tempted but I have about another year on the v20. So I figure I'll wait... See how the note 8 is and then when it's time to renew decide. You get a free mem card and wireless charger through promotion.
I have to say...I hate the curved screen because of of poor fitting screen protectors and it is more fragile if you drop it on the edge. Also hate the glass back.

just saw Samsung is allowing people who owned a note 7 to trade thier current phone in for a credit up to $428 towards the note 8...hmmmmm

this may change my thinking!

My v20 has held up so well that i don't really feel the need to upgrade to anything this year. The screen on the note is the only thing that has me drooling over it. From now on, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy phones outright 6 months after they're released. They depreciate so quickly and are so expensive now that it's silly to spend $800-1000 when you can get it a few months down the road for half that.

Probably in April of next year I'll look at either the v30 or mate 10 if i decide to give up the replaceable battery in the v20. If we get Oreo before then, i might not even feel compelled to upgrade at all.

I was hoping that would be the case. That's about all I owe on my LG V20. If they give me even close to that I'd probably jump back even tho I really have enjoyed having a removable battery and extra. And I've dropped this thing without a case about a hundred times and it's been fine.

Where did you see that joeykool?

Hmm, I was going to stick with the v20 because battery life is stellar.

Notes have great battery life in first ten months then drops significantly.

But the trade in deal is nice! Will think it through....but likely stick with the v20.

What phone do I have then? Lol

Mine is horrible and I consider myself semi tech savvy so I kinda know what to set up and disable etc.

I want to hold the Note 8 in person first. I've read that it is taller than the V20 which blows my mind as the v20 is probably the largest I can go while still being practical for my usage. I had an s7 and absolutely loved it, moved to the V20 for the camera and USB C (as minor as it may be) but once I experienced AMOLED screens, I'm having a hard time going back to anything but.

My extended battery and case will be in today so I'll be holding onto my V20 a bit longer. I'm pretty happy with the V20 so far.

I'll be looking at the Pixel 2, new iphone or the V30 down the line though.

I assume everyone got the Samsung email. Am I to understand that the only way we get the $425 trade in discount is if we purchase outright from Samsung direct? Just curious. Not sure I can cough up the whole amount at once, that's why I do the monthly payments with Verizon.

Verizon is offering the deal, but best I can tell you have to pay off the current phone. It looks like some people may have exchanged the Note 7 while they offered early trade ins after paying 50% of the replacement, so those may be able to trade in without paying off 100%.

Looking at Samsung's site, their fine print does say you'd be liable for any remaining payment plan balance to your carrier.

I so had my heart set on the note 8 only to find out it isn't just a simple switch phones... same plan. I'm so bummed. the battery on my v20 ABSOLUTELY SUCKS BEYOND BELIEF! I left the house at 10am today with 80%. talked on phone 40 minutes, surfed the web off and on a little and at 2:30 I was down to 15%. this is honestly killing my love for this phone.

I had similar problems but a factory reset changed all that.

I like the front face of the phone, the S Pen and the camera. But I will not buy it because of the following: small non removable battery, wrong fingerprint reader position, useless Bixby buttom (won't use it).
