Anyone else returned their LG G3 and regetted it?

So I should clarify that the phone didn't overheat, but just started getting warm or got. It didn't overheat and shut itself off or displayed a warning.

Today I can go get the G3 again or get the S5 it HTC ONE M8. Or what a week and see what the note 4 or Moto x +1 is like. Or iphone 6, lol

Check the sg5 or HTC m8 forum and you will see the same problems mate.

There not a perfect phone around and there will never be one!

Just go by your like's an get a new phone.

Most phones get warm when gaming so don't worry about this... With any phone! .

I'm a tad worried that this phone SoC is going to too out sooner than the other 801 phones because of the 2K screen. Since the m8 and S5 only power a 1080p screen they have more headroom with performance, don't they?

That seems to be the popular opinion at this point. It appears that the screen may be more under certain circumstances than the processor can handle adequately. I am guessing that the Samsung may have taken more time considering this, hence the 805 and 4GB of RAM. It will be interesting to see how it performs after it's release.

The new tech gets phones hot.... and it's not like anyone else has done a better job of cooling the phones. I'm guessing that some here will be surprised to see which phone performed the best in this particular test.

The phones will dissipate heat in different ways. To put an ice cube on the screen and measure it that way is stupid. The only scientific way is to measure the CPU temp.

Unfortunately it still does not negate the fact that people's phone are shutting down while performing "normal smart phone tasks".
Why some of the same phones run cooler, no idea whatsoever.
No different than buying a new car. We all see less cylinders are now creating more power and performance but they didn't sacrifice real world useability to achieve those goals. So you drive your old car everyday to work and never had it overheat or shutdown; your new "high tech" car overheats making that same drive.....acceptable? Right, some here would really say "that's the price of new technology, it's all good" BS
The dealership would be getting every single car sitting in the repair bay.

No, it doesn't... but the G3 isn't, by default, some overheating beast that'll heatstroke for everyone... and heat issues are not isolated to the G3. Search for "overheating issues" and insert any phone... S5, Note 3, Z2, M8, Nexus 5, iPhone 5s, etc.... you'll find a never ending list of links pointing to forums or blog posts or youtube videos showing instances where some users of all those phones have overheating issues doing "normal smartphone tasks"

Yes, it's a problem, but it's also a problem not unique to the G3.

With System on chips (SOCs) with no cooling systems or heatsinks they are bound to get warm. When they place measures (protects) that will shut down in event of overheating is in my mind a good thing. What isn't good is that these misbehave and shut down the phone on moderate use.

But yeh every phone uses these chips and there for are susceptible to the same issue's. Of course many other factors come into play such as how one uses such device...but for the most part they are efficient its just a bit unfortunate that this happens as yeh why wouldn't or rather shouldn't you be able to use your expensive phone as you see fit?

I'm a heavy user and perhaps i have been lucky with my devices or perhaps its the way I use them, I have had warm issue's not denying and some just above warm.

I don't think anyone is stating that this is G3 specific but rather putting out there that this is an issue that some succumb to for various reasons (be it how one uses or manufacturing defects).

Hoe would you even know it had 4GB ram? ive also heard it wont.

Although it's probably best to wait a few days, I'm unsure if the note 4 or new Moto x would be something I was interested in. I don't like samsungs bloated UI and cheap plastic, and rumors have the new Moto X looking like more of a modest handset spec wise, just like the original X. The G3 has the latest chips, 3GB of ram, and a good screen. And I'm really wishing I used the phone more before I returned it. Now I'm gonna look like a crazy person to the att reps for wanting to rebuy a phone that I returned.

We are literally hours away from the reveals for both the Note 4 and the X+1. Why would you Not wait? You seem to be bit flaky about the whole phone owning thing. Maybe you should chill for a few weeks, smoke a few joints, and let someone else decide for you.

It's a Note... which means people who own one can expect a very usefull and functional device that pretty much does everything pretty well. Now, I'm waiting for the throngs of people ranting about how it's just an updated Note 3 and not some revolutionary device that wakes up and cooks them breakfast. Yes, it IS an upgraded Note 3! Egads!

So if wanted/have a Note 3, you'll want a Note 4, if you DIDN'T want a Note 3, I don't see anything that with the 4 that would change your mind. But that's not exactly a stunning proclamation.

I think we forget and/or take for granted what LG has done with the G3 as far as fitting a 5.5" screen that is so damn compact! I'm pretty sure that the Note 4 will be an excellent device but at 5.7" and a not so compact design, its going to be a monster next to the G3. Perhaps Samsung should get rid of the home button in order to 'slim' down the Note's design?!

Choosing a phone thats right for you.. my guide?.
Every phone you buy, they;ll be a trade of somewhere, no perfect phone exsists.. so..

- What do you want in a phone..
Just for simple txting and calls... Blackberry or iPhone
- Musicand sound.. HTC M8 or iPhone
- Loads of Apps without too many ads .. iPhone
- Loads of Apps to try (usually with ads).. Android
- Lots of features, customisation and software toys - Samsung or LG.
- Pure Android as google intended .. Nexus 5
- Great Camera and work flow productivity .. Nokia Windows Phone w/ Pure View Camera
- Something different and new .. OnePlus One w/ Cyanogen OS
- Internet, web surfing and productivity work flow.. Galaxy Note 3

This is not a difinitive list, only my personna guide, but before committing yourself for 2 years.. its worth thinking what you want to use your phone for

Well... it's gotten to the point where that button is their thing.. distinctively Samsung. But dropping it wouldn't really save a lot of space though. Take a peek at this size comparison.... The G3's lower bezel is actually a bit thicker than the Note's (look where the screens are, not that metalic looking bottom plate). It's that top bezel that does most of the damage.

I already kind of know what I want. I want a high performing phone with good to great battery life and a good UI. And that's nicely designed.

Since all of those details are subjective, you'll be able to make the decision on your own. Hopefully.
