Anyone else returned their LG G3 and regetted it?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

The Oppo 7 and 7a are easy, it's the OPO (aka One Plus One) that's hard. But come October they say that the invite system is going away, should be easier to get then.

Oppo sounds too much like poopoo (not that it is one)....well close enough for horse shoes and hand grenades!

It does, and it's a weird name -- are we getting near where all the good ones are taken? (I mean, google... really? Google?)

But they design and build some really nice stuff. I have a BDP-105 and the sound quality from the Sabre32 DAC they use in it is astonishing. If the phones are even half as good in design and build quality then maybe when my Nexus 5 dies....

Same boat, I'd be on it like a fat kid on a corn dog if it worked on Verizon.

Yep, I'd definitely get the Oppo 7 if I could use it on Sprint

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Excuse me?

I've been around these parts a lot longer than you. I also have owned probably twice the amounts of phones than you. So I do know what I'm talking about. If you don't know the difference between lag and micro stuttering, I suggest you get on Google and do a search and read the definitions. I would do it for you, but my "schedule" is too tight.

Seniority means nothing. What are all bent out of shape about anyway? I just stated that my G3 has none of the issues some ppl have and I am thankful for that. A lot of the problems are non existant as well. I have had a positive experience with mine, if that causes you to get all **** hurt about it, I could really care less.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Well said. I agree, especially about those who complain about lag. Nonsense. This phone has ZERO lag. The people complaining about it are either just so bent on finding something to dislike about the phone that they are making things up, or they have an app installed that isn't playing nice. Either way it's not the phone. It's fast and smooth..

Well I can tell you personally that I wasn't bent on finding something wrong with my G3. The phone did lag and it did get hot near the power button / camera area. And I'm sure it wasn't user error or whatever.

In fact when I went to the Sprint Store, a Sprint Tech had a G3 also and he showed me how his was experiencing issues where the phone would lag when it came to switching between camera and video modes. It would take about 45 seconds to a minute before it would actually switch camera modes.

Now with that said, I did stay with the G3 Line and exchange mine out for another New one. Personally I stayed with the G3 because I didn't feel it was anything currently on the market that could compete with everything the G3 offered.

The new G3 I picked up, also got hot around the same area of the phone. But that subsided a couple days after use. As far as the lag, it's not as bad but its still there.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Although it's probably best to wait a few days, I'm unsure if the note 4 or new Moto x would be something I was interested in. I don't like samsungs bloated UI and cheap plastic, and rumors have the new Moto X looking like more of a modest handset spec wise, just like the original X. The G3 has the latest chips, 3GB of ram, and a good screen. And I'm really wishing I used the phone more before I returned it. Now I'm gonna look like a crazy person to the att reps for wanting to rebuy a phone that I returned.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Almost all devices get the scorched earth tantrums from the community. Admittedly some devices more than others.
Just browse any forum and the sky will be falling in some thread because of some perceived or Ill perceived slight by the manufacturer.

Since I have a G2, I remember all the non sense about that phone.
Now people praise allot of things about it, but in the beginning the community was getting after lg because of a subpar device.

As for the overheating on the phone. I have yet to experience this and maybe I am not using my device as intensive as most of you. I just concluded a day of streaming over wifi and Netflix, amazon prime and no complaints from the device. My phone is also stock config... That may also have something to do with it.

Just go to a different store. Who cares what anyone thinks?

As names go Oppo is not as startling as the names of some Chinese cameras from the past. My favourite is a Rolleiflex copy called the Five-Goats. The hyphen seems to make it almost surreal.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Yep. You blew it big time, dude. ;)
But seriously folks, I don't see anything on the market now, including the upcoming GN4, that works on so many levels as the LG G3.
Any perceived problems have been debunked as user error, bad SD cards, imagination or downright delusional and now that it has been out for a bit, nearly everyone sees it as a fantastic device.
LG will sell 10 million units and, while not Samsung numbers, is a very good number.
I see LG as a rising Number 2 behind Samsung as I believe they have peaked and have nowhere else to go.

Anyway, that is my $.02 and we now return you to your regularly scheduled life. :)

Mav.

P.S. Yes. Give it another go.

Getting an overheating warning pop-up box on a device is due to user error? Or does that fall into the category of imagining things or being delusional? How has that been "debunked?"
What about the cracks showing up on some devices, emanating from the microphone? People sending in photo shopped photos? Or is that once again delusion? User error? Are people speaking into the microphone incorrectly and causing the cracks? That's definitely user error. LG has stated that it's aware of the problem. Hopefully LG will tell us how to correctly speak into the mic to avoid cracking the device.
I'm sure, with the many mobile devices you've owned over the years, you've come across an instance or two where your device did NOT perform to your standards. Either you put up with it, returned or exchanged the device. Either way that issue was REAL to YOU and noone could tell you that it was user error, you were delusional or it was a product of your imagination, right? To you the device was flawed.
So what's different today?
Why aren't you able to extend the same benefit of the doubt?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Freezes randomly as well. Thought it was Aviate, then GEL, so now I just assume it's the software on the hardware. Lol

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I wouldn't mind getting a oppo, but can't figure out how to get a invite.

Should have the phone this week. Not sure about shareable invites. October may get here before those do.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Jumped the gun on taking back the G3, huh?

Take this time to evaluate what you want out of a phone and to try out others.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So I should clarify that the phone didn't overheat, but just started getting warm or got. It didn't overheat and shut itself off or displayed a warning.

Today I can go get the G3 again or get the S5 it HTC ONE M8. Or what a week and see what the note 4 or Moto x +1 is like. Or iphone 6, lol

I already kind of know what I want. I want a high performing phone with good to great battery life and a good UI. And that's nicely designed.
