Anyone else returned their LG G3 and regetted it?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I love my LG g2! LG has been the best brand I've ever used for phones!

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I don't recall addressing you or suggesting it is your phone that I am talking about. It bothers you this much that people bring this FACT to light?
If you are not experiencing the problem, why dismiss those that are (I bet you can't answer this question).

My g3 never had any overeating issues. So talk about your g3, because mine is in good conditions.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I agree.
My issue, generally speaking, is that the manufactures know by now how smartphones are used....shooting videos, watching videos, running nav on your dash, playing music in the vehicle, taking pics on a hot day, none of this is new. Now we have one phone that cannot perform these basic tasks for a lot of people.
Again, many of us have yet to experience the overheating/shutdown but it does not negate the fact that many have.

Well, people often don't want to admit issues because they take it to mean they picked the wrong phone.

Granted, there are ways to cause overheating issues that are ID-10-T errors, like cranking 4k videos at full brightness in the mi
d-day sun, but a lot of people are getting warnings during relatively normal situations.... But others don't...

Just because I haven't had a fault doesn't mean they don't exist.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

It's kind of a double edged sword. On one hand you have the people with a legitimate issue. Their phone heats up and they're not able to use it properly. Of course they're going to come here and try and find solutions to their issues and there is absolutely a validity to that.

On the other hand you have a large number of people who bought the phone and have no issues at all. They also come to the forms to show the other side of the coin.

Without this contradicting view it would appear that 100 percent of LG g3 phones were affected by this issue which they are not.

Yes there is an issue, no this issue does not affect every phone.

Well, you did answer, not a very good one but you did answer.
So your logic is that since your phone does not heat up, no one else's does?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

That's exactly what I am doing all over again... First thing I download is screen test, and I look for bleeds and dead pixels... I'm doing it because I had 3 N5's with dead pixels...
But need to stop doing this.

LOL! Yeah, I was OCD about my phones for a while. But then I realized nothing is perfect and nothing will stay perfect. On my Moto X, it took me 3 months before I noticed a dead pixel. Was it there all the time? Or did it happen recently? Not sure. But it's there and if it took that long to notice it, it wasn't a problem to begin with.

Just find a phone you like and hold it. Caress it. Poke the headphone port with a ....the....male end of some headphones, and turn that sucker on. Get it the way you like it and forget it. Otherwise, every phone is going to eat you up about something.

My G3 doesn't have an Overeating issue either. It's still just as slim as the day I got it. Maybe it's doing some G3-cerzises while I'm asleep. :)

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I really be sent gonna read all the pages but I'll say this. I've had a note 3 and s5 and I've toyed with the m8. This is my preferred mobile device. It has and does all the things I'd want it to do and I tweaked it to do the things I need it to do. Heating issues? Gone. Lag and stuttering? Seldom to none. My phone is smooth and the battery lasts long enough. Buying these devices always been about preference and how you can get the most out of your device. I'm maximizing the capabilities of my g3 and I now prefer it over Samsung's and HTC's offerings.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So, here's thing. I ended up returning the G3 today because I honestly didn't like that it got warm or a bit got when playing games and that there was a bit of lag on the interface. I also didn't like that in benchmarks it seemed to score rather poorly. I don't think a not really noticeable 2K screen is worth it if it causes decreased performance. Also, battery life seemed ok, not amazing.

But now I'm wondering if I maybe was too hasty with my return. How much do benchmarks even matter? Maybe things would have improved with time. Honestly, I'm mad at LG that they made such a nice phone that I'm beginning to think to put up with these personally shortcomings, haha.

I then thought of getting a M8 because it supposed to have better performance and battery, but that camera makes me iffy. Though I don't really take many photos.

Also doesn't help that every reviewer seems to really live the G3.

I don't know, what do you guys think? Give it another shot?

Hang tight for a few days to see what pops from IFA etc. You can always get another G3...for about 500 on SWAPPA

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So, I'm thinking of picking the G3 back up. I didn't really give it a good yeast run (only 2 days) and I do miss the phone. But maybe I should wait a few days and see how good the Moto X+1 and Note 4 are? Heck, maybe even see what the iphone 6 is like?

The G3 is a great phone. But like you said, in a matter of days we will see the introduction of several new phones. At this point you might as well wait it out and see the new ones before you decide. Get what you want and what will satisfy your needs, no need to rush right now if you don't have to.

2 days is a bit short. I had the G3 for about 12 or 13 days and returned it. Great device but a few things I would change and att really made too many changes that I felt were compromises. So I got my $624 back, bought an OPO for $364 and still have enough to see what IFA brings.

IFA is going to bring me heartache. Why? Cause I will want every phone and tech device shown and can't afford all of them. Well, I could, but the wife will take them all in the divorce so what's the point.....dammit.

Me too! I have quite a stash in my sock drawer, so I may be able to get one more device without the wife smacking me. That damn Sony Z3 is calling me...

I'm sitting on three right now, something has gotta go before I can take on another. I have to sleep with one eye open now. One more phone and she'll get me for sure...

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Well I'm new to the site and Android but played and tested out the M8, G3 and S5 for two weeks until i was able to upgrade. Coming from Apple I wanted to make sure i was comfortable in what I was getting. They all have their pros and cons. What turned me off on the G3 was the overheating. I experienced several times in different ATT stores and once in Best Buy. It happens when you watch videos or take videos while the screen is higher than 80%. Knowing that I tried to get used to the screen at 70% but i just couldn't. I like it bright and the LG just doesn't play nice that way. Otherwise it was a great phone and I didn't notice any bad lag at all. The M8 is faster and smoother but we are splitter hairs here. Anyway...my two cents for what it's worth from an ex-Apple guy :)

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I wouldn't mind getting a oppo, but can't figure out how to get a invite.

The Oppo 7 and 7a are easy, it's the OPO (aka One Plus One) that's hard. But come October they say that the invite system is going away, should be easier to get then.

Yep, I'd definitely get the Oppo 7 if I could use it on Sprint
