Anyone else returned their LG G3 and regetted it?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I don't know if it was just a hiccup in the software but I did noticed the lag when I first got her. It all disappeared after Nova Prime and improved after changing the runtime to ART.

I just wanted to add that this is my experience as well. Oh, and shutting off location (GPS) when you don't need it helps tremendously with battery life.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So now that the note 4 has been revealed, how do you think it stacks up to the G3? The only thing I kinda care about is wether the 805 chip is going to be better suited to this level if resolution screen.

Of COURSE the 805/420 is better suited, and it should outperform the G3... but that's not earth-shattering news.... it's expected.

How does it stack up? It's a Note.... it'll be a fast, functional device packed with a million whizbangs and doo-dads. But it's also a monster. LG managed to pack in the absolute largest screen they could and kept it in a package that fits in with the M8 and S5. The Note 4 don't have time for that and grew a little, pushing past the 6" mark in height and gained a fair amount of weight as well.

So if you hemmed and hawwed between the Note 3 and G3, settling on the G3 by the slightest of margins, the Note 4 probably has enough to win you over. Other than that, you won't miss much by sticking with the G3.

I don't know if I like the size of the note 4. The G3 is about right below the breaking point for usability for me I think. Anything bigger I think I wouldn't like much.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So, now I think my choices are going to be between the S5, M8, and G3. Is the G3 still the best out of those?

That's subjective.... heh.... I happen to think so, but it all depends on your own personal tastes. For me? The M8's camera is crap, so no go. I don't like Samsung's home button obession and I'm not a big fan of Touchwiz, so that's a no go either.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

The GS5 seemed like a great device to me, but the 16gb storage got me nervous and hesitant. I mostly download games and apps, and I can't put those on a SD card. Or if I can, probably don't want to for performance reasons.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I'm selling mine. Can't take the quirks anymore. I lobed it but now I can barely take it. The frame rate drops are super bothersome and what really pisses me off is gaming. Certain games require precise timing and the LG G3 somehow ruins it. Nitro Nation and Swing Copters come to mind. Now that I've seen the Note 4 I'm considering it or going with the Moto X+1, Xperia Z3, Nexus 6 or iPhone 6. No matter which direction I go it'll be better (in my eyes) than the LG G3.

Was it really that bad?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Okay no its honestly not "that bad" and its not even close to the end of the world. But I'm annoyed enough to the point it has me looking elsewhere. My fiancee has the white version and she raves about it day and night and so does a buddy of mine that is a software developer for Qualcomm.

Its not nearly as bad as I'm making it sound.

On a personal level I just can't get over it. It just burns me that my old Moto X does the same things without the same stutter.

I did the little dialer mod that turns off throttling and its better but I still get the same symptoms the Moto X didn't.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

Before I post this let me preface this by saying that I suffer from anxiety and OCD.

I returned the G3 yet again after only having it for a day. I panicked after I notice a astronomy app u was using was not performing well.

But now I'm worried I, yet again, didn't give it proper testing. I'm yet again thinking of picking the phone back up. I've already wasted 70 bucks on restocking fees, and I'm mad I wasted that money.

But tge G3 just seems like the most well rounded phone, and maybe performance wasn't so bad and it was just my OCD screwing with me.

Man, I just don't know. Neither tge new Moto x or note 4 seem as good as the G3. And neither do the M8 or S5 do on the whole. So maybe it is the best phone for me and I just have to put up with performance issues?

Wow you have it baaaaaad...there are things you just have to accept ....will you get the occasional jitter yes...I have had this with all devices and no I'm not talking about lag..

This can just be the app misbehaving and not the phone.

Lag is the software but this usually can be sorted and there are remedies that may or may not work.

Its upto you but I think any phone will have you returning if your OCD is that extreme..

I do recognise that OCD is an issue and we all have it to varying degree's. I would recommend that you try and repeat after me...

No phone is perfect lol

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I know no phone is perfect, but I also don't want a phone I'll regret getting either. I did really like the G3. It was just worry about performance and future performance that got me worried. I don't want to worry how well a game or app will perform on my phone.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

On my second day with my G3 and I love it, no regrets. There's no such thing as a perfect phone, is true, it all comes down to what you really like and need, if none are in the market that is to your liking, maybe just stick to something from last year and wait it out. But then you're always playing the waiting game for the next best thing whereas it may have flaws as well. :) G3 is a great phone in my opinion..compare to the m8 the build is nice on the m8 but I do love the fact I can swap batteries out and bigger screen and oh don't forget laser camera :D

AND the knock on code :3 I really like.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So I just did a factory data reset and added a crystal clear screen protector.

Something was definitely wrong with the out of box OS or I had a rogue app the entire 30 or so days I've had it because I kid you not the performance was horrendous. Now I get the occasional stutter. Its still not as good as my old Moto X but its way better than it was.

I can't stress how bad it was compared to what it is now lol.

Its so much better. I may keep the phone now haha.

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

So, I don't know if I can go back to the G3. I'd just feel like a chump buying the same phone three times. I mean, clearly I wasn't happy with it right?

Re: Returned G3, now regretting it.

I think maybe I had unrealistic expectations of tge G3. I expected games on it to perform as good as my iphone 5S does, but maybe it just can't? Really, when I look at the available and announced android phones The G3 is the best well rounder . My only gripe was the game performance and performance in some apps like star walk. But I'm not sure if that's worth not getting the phone. In all honesty, I don't play a ton of mobile games. But I'd like to at least do it well when I want to play them, you know ?

G3 overheats to the point where the screen automatically greatly dims in order for it to cool down, rendering the G3 unusable until it cools down. G3 is virtually non viewable outdoors. Cracks are emanating from the microphone which hints of a very thin plastic used in order to cut costs. So G3 is a no go.
