Anyone Getting the "Itch"

Been using the note 8 since launch and I'm loving it. Things were initially rocky with the bixby bloatware, but that's been sorted for awhile now. Not feeling the need for a new phone but I do find myself wishing for stock Android from time to time. I like the added features Sammy builds into the note line but I'm not in love with any of their non s-pen related Android tweaks. My dream phone would be a pixel XL with the s-pen, but until that happens (with great build quality) I'll be sticking with this.

Not at all. I got it discounted, battery levels have been consistent, haven't dropped yet. I'm not one that switches phone every few months. I usually keep them for 1 or 2 years. I just wish it was wider instead of taller. I don't use Bixby at all, never have even accepted gherkin terms to start it

Same here. Wider and flat screen would be ideal.

Loved my Note 4, love the Note8.. That being said, almost 1000 bucks and still not on the latest OS, whats up with that, Samsung?
The random lockup thing is annoying as hell also...
I still love the phone, and I have no interest in Apple anything (except maybe pie.. ;) ) so maybe next go round I'll try a Huawai, unless Sammie convinces me otherwise.

No itch here! I started my journey with the GS4, moved to the NOTE EDGE, and after years of satisfaction, I finally traded up to the NOTE 8! I LOVE everything about this phone and I can wait a few model updates before moving up again! My only issue, its too big for my GEAR VR.

Oh and my wife has the same phone.

As a daily device, no itch. For me personally, this is the best phone out there. I mean... maybe another Note 8 in a different color? Lolo. I do wish it were wider. It would be fun to doodle around with another phone but none come close to the Note for me.

I hate that it is slimmer in width as well...

Not particularly? Just switched to Verizon from AT&T and the wife got an iPhone 8 for her, iPhone X for me because she couldn't turn down the BOGO. Verizon claimed they couldn't carry over my S8 despite buying an unlocked model for just such an occasion. Goofing around with the X (typing from the S8 now) but don't think I'll keep it. Hopefully the two week return period they mentioned was valid...

Have had my Note 8 for only a couple of weeks but I am happy with it. I could have waited for a new phone to be available, researched new phones and decided the Note 8 was the right choice.

I wish I never got this Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I had all the recent phones, and at this point I'd rather have my Galaxy 5 or 6. Sorry.

I just acquired a Note 8 from Sprint and I had switched from Metro piece of S and so far I love the Note 8. It costed me a pretty penny for my down payment upfront, but it's well worth it, to me anyways.

Re: Anyone Getting the "Itch"

It is the best phone on the market, super fast, minimal lags only caused by Google themselves, Google Play Music and Google Drive have both caused issues only an hour ago. Drive totally locked phone for an about 10 seconds, displayed half the spinning icon and black screen background. Google play music also locked up on laptop, which leads me to believe GOOGLE is the culprit. Even my note 5, handed down to my son rules many phones on the market today. Many times I regretted giving the phone to my younger 12 year old son. My oldest son and I ended up separating ourselves from the Explosively Awesome Note 7 and trading it for the 7edge undoubtedly the WORST phone I have ever owned, We both shared a bitter hatred of that cursed offering. Don't consumers read the reviews?
On a positive note nothing gives my 12 year old greater joy when he shows his fellow classmates the expertly integrated and stellar S pen, the high quality Camera and his favorite, explaining why licencing agreements are the reason Apple cables and their various high priced accoutrements cost up to 50% more for identical items versus Android cables micro, mini and C . I can wait for the 10.. unless a financially feasible upgrade appears.
P.S my youngest uses my Note 2.

I always have the itch. I believe I am addicted to upgrading every year. I started this whole smartphone life with the Galaxy S2. I have upgraded every year since, all the way through the Galaxy S8. Then got my first Note, the Note8, as soon as it was available for pre-order. I just absolutely love this stuff. (Even though Samsung has me by the throat). Never cared for an iPhone, the navigation and OS seems backwards and archaic to me. Anyway, not certain. The Snapdragon 845 is calling me to upgrade and get the fastest I can get. I love this Note8, definitely the best one I have ever had. I will likely upgrade to the Note9. Ahh, not likely, I know I will!!.

I would love to be able to upgrade every year, but it had become very costly to do that. Plus, I missed that feeling of getting a true upgrade.

Re: Anyone Getting the "Itch"

One of the cool things I find with the Note8 is that when others observe me using it they are amazed at some of the things I could do. Just today I had someone comment on how cool it is that I can use the pen to handwrite on my screen. Or when I use Samsung Pay at a terminal that doesn't accept mobile payments. Or, being able to sign documents on my phone and send back through email.
And those who are using the Samsung DEX station to create a desktop computer experience. These are amazing things this smartphone is capable of.
