Anyone have any suggestions how I can get my hands on an Evo?

My local Best Buy got 40 of them on Thursday. Walked in Friday picked up a white one for my daughter and left about 15 minutes later.

In hind sight I should have called the store first and asked if they had gotten some in; I bet we could have gotten ours and I'd be playing with my EVO now.
 
My battery life isnt bad at all...Ive been off the charger for 7hrs 20 min and have 40% battery life left with a lot of data use and text.

Did you leave everything turned on or did you turn off things like the bluetooth, 4G, lower the screen setting?
 
Bluetooth and 4G is off. Used wifi for a little then turned it back off and the screen display is lower but not the lowest.
 
Seems like lterrian and I are in the same boat. I have the same order date as you (8/13) and its still being processed. Although I'm feeling a little unlucky because I just got a postcard from Sprint saying my order is on backorder and that if its not fulfilled in 30 days it will be canceled unless I call.

Hopefully we'll get our Evos Monday or Tuesday...I'm hoping for Tuesday to be the latest!!
 
Our EVO's shipped yesterday from Best Buy.com - they'll be here Monday :)

The local Best Buy had two in stock this afternoon.

Did you get your order in on line the 19th or before?

I got a order in after I saw your post and mine is back-ordered, stated it would be here the 23rd also but now I have to wait again.

I called my local Sprint store on Tuesday the 17th, they said they had none in stock and it would be a 2-3 week wait. Did I want to be placed on a waiting list? Well, after reading that waiting lists are a joke, I was hesitant to give my name & number, but I did anyway.
They called two days later, to say if I wanted a phone, to call back within 2 hours and it was mine! Several people had found phones else where, or hadn't called back. I got my phone!
I had a Captivate for 27 days and returned it on the 17th. The gps never worked. I had waited for the Galaxy X since reading about it back in March. AT&T charged me $35 to return a defective phone. The manager all but called me a liar. I told him to read his own forums, there isn't a fix yet and I didn't want to be stuck with a phone for 2 years that may never get a working gps system.
I am so happy to have unlimited data. It's so nice not having to check my usage every day to verify I'm not over at&t's stupid 2GB cap.

Yes, I placed the order early evening on the 19th. I got an email Saturday late afternoon with the tracking number. The phones are in Kentucky and are scheduled to be delivered on Monday. The email listed the new phone numbers, etc.
 
Still no tracking # and no new information but a stupid card in the mail telling me order is on back-order today. Now im starting to get frustrated. I ordered on the 13th!!!!!!!!!

We were exactly where u were at a week ago. All of us started with our phones on backorder. If u ordered in the 13 that means today is business day 5 and sprint maintains a 5-7 day processing time that does not include the day u ordered .... u will get ur phone just have faith

I ordered on a Monday and my order was shipped that following Monday.... but I Def was pleasantly surprised because they totally had until wed....

Also I think the tracking numbers r updated around 5-6pm when their UPS shipment actually goes out

What's the process of ordering via Art? I normally bill my new phones to my Sprint account. Is Art able to bill the phone to our account, or do we have to pay directly via credit card?

Well Thanks Donna for the encouraging words. Im a try and hang in there I just been reading these forums like everyone else way before the phone came out. Im just eager lol, I'm sure like anyone else in my position or was in my position like you at one point.
 
Marley I am pretty sure art can bill ur acct. If it is in good standing.

The upgrade price I think is 199 if ur eligible but don't quite me on that - I was a new customer

As for the proccess just give art a call and he'll explain it. I had a deposit in a store for two weeks until I finally gave up and called him and now I have a happy little evo in my happy little hands.... it was the best! No muss, no fuss, just a little patience involved.

I JUST finished reading this entire thread. I haven't ordered mine yet (going to wait and call him when I'm off work) and I already feel more crazy than you have been this entire thread. This can't be good. LOOOOOOOOL
 
Lol I wasn't crazy.... just... um persistent .....

What can I say I want what I want when I want it... lol


But I will say It was alllllll worth it because....I LOVE MY EVO !!!!
