Anyone have any suggestions how I can get my hands on an Evo?

no nothing wrong. Im doing same thing. My wife and kids are in Oh, im in Sc working (sortof) (lack of work). Just sitting around watching tv. LOOKING AT THREAD AND CHECKING SPRINT. I think my wife is tired of hereing about not haveing my phone. LOL think she would kill me just to shut me up LOL

I did call sprint and they gave me an Order number and it says being processed, but no tracking number as of yet. Everything looks good though, Art is a cool cat very helpful. He said he has been getting a lot of phone calls from this forums.

This is pretty funny, never in my life have I worked this hard at purchasing anything. Only Sprint can make phone buying into a treasure hunt.
 
Aint that the truth. Actually i have never had this much trouble getting a phone from sprint. Got the new 8350i nextel blackberry right when they came out now problem. ONLY HTC and SPRINT can do this big of a scerw up..(not having enough stock for the amount of needed

yeah, yeah, look i know its Sat. but i had to look anyway and still no tracking number on sprints web site.

lol an online chat window popped up when i was checking my order status and i talked to a chat rep and this is what they said

Mike: Keep in mind, your order will be fulfilled on a first come, first serve basis and will ship shortly after we receive inventory. You can also track the status of your order by visiting Sprint | Check Your Order Status.
Mike: I am very sorry for the delay in responding to you. The orders are filled on a first come first serve basis. As long as there is inventory to cover all of the back orders and the inventory comes in as expected it should ship out on the 16th.

Got the rebate paperwork and Art's card in the mail last night. Hope to have a tracking number early next week.

You could always do what I did ...

I waited 8 weeks for the Evo after it was released. My upgrade wasn't until August 1st and I was dying to get my hands on it. I called Sprint NUMEROUS times only for them to tell me they couldn't upgrade me early. Then, I was told a couple of times by different reps that they would let me upgrade 14 days from my actual upgrade date. I made sure I got all reps names and made sure they made notes on my account with what I was being told. That made things a little better so I called some Sprint stores and got myself on a couple of waiting list. Then, the most frustrating thing happened. On the 14th day (before my upgrade), A Sprint store called and told me they had an Evo in for me and to come pick it up. Can you imagine how excited I was? So I called customer service to have my upgrade date changed (like they instructed me to do) only for them to transfer me to a million different places and be told "No, you have to wait until your upgrade date". I was furious! Why tell me that I could upgrade 14 days early and then when the actual day came and my Evo was waiting on me, you tell me NO? I can't even explain my anger. I had to let the Evo go that was at the Sprint store waiting on me and decided to just wait it out because I was tired of the hassle.

On August 1st (which was on a Sunday), I called a couple of places and went to Best Buy only to be told they had none in stock. I called these places everyday that entire week until that Thursday, I got online and searched numbers for EVERY SINGLE Radio Shack close enough that I could drive too. That ended up being 19 stores and I got on 12 list. The next day, the Radio Shack 2 minutes from my house called and told me they had gotten ONE in and that I should come get it ASAP. That's exactly what I did.
So my suggestion is to call many Radio Shack/Best Buy/Sprint stores, get on the list, and wait it out. The more you call, your chances are better.

But after all of that and having an Evo in my hand, I now want the Epic. SMH.
 
Why would you want an epic??? hello 8mp camera vs 5mp camera.... lol just kidding... im sure some people will love it. I just happen to love pictures sooo thats a big draw for me
you may be able to return your evo and exchange for epic under 30 day exchange policy
