Anyone here not using a screen protector for their Note 8?

I'm not using anything but a fitbag. My reasoning is people are spending more money on screen protectors to actually find one that works, than the cost of a deductible to get a new device if you muck it up.

No protector here either. Use a minimal case at home & use a nice handmade leather folio case I bought on Noreve'.

After over almost 2 months, gone on vacation, travel all across the US for work, without a screen protector, no issues and no scratches(that I can see!). I even had it dropped on a cobblestone street with the Samsung alacantra case on from eye level with no damage. I got lucky.
I have always had screen protectors on all my phones in the past but just hate how curved screen protectors look and feel.

Worst mistake was taking after advice by not putting one on after I religiously did on all of my previous phones. Set my phone upside down on a glass table within the first week of having it and now I've got a scratch on the screen.

No protector. I used to always put them on my phones. Now I don't. Screen looks better without and feels better without it. No scratches on any of my devices.

I am considering going without. I've been through 4 tempered glass -- 2 i-Blason and 2 Zaggs. They keep cracking without being dropped and all within a week of install. I'm not sure what is causing this. Twice the phone was in my purse. I have a special pocket that has nothing else in it that I keep my phone in. Once the SP cracked while I was wiping it with the microfiber I use to clean my glasses. The third one cracked while I was sleeping and it was on my headboard. It sounds crazy, but I was reading when I went to sleep and it was cracked in the morning.

The cracks all start somewhere in the middle of the screen. One was near the home button, one was near the right top and 2 were right in the middle. Then the crack keeps going until it reaches edge to edge. There are never any signs of an unknown impact and it's always the one crack with no spidering.

I just wish I felt better about going without. Microscratches drive me crazy and I live withing a mile of the beach, so sand is everywhere. Also, I wear earrings and sometimes actually talk on my phone.

Perhaps I'll throw more money after bad and try the Whitestone Dome. The install has me concerned though. I wouldn't be able to stand any bubble or glue or lifting.

Get the whitedome. Been rocking it for a month now. Dropped my phone a few times and the screen is still good as new. Sensitivity is still as if I had put it on. You'll be happy you did it.

When I bought my Note 8 from Verizon they all but told me I might have issues with the screen protector. They were right it lifts easily from the edges and more importantly interferes with my typing and A pen. Took it off and problems gone. Keep my Note in a leather wallet case and I feel comfortable it will last me until Note 9 or 10 (phone envy issues). Go naked, just be smart about it.

What exactly is a screen "protector" protecting my screen from?

Drops?
Cracks?
Deranged gunmen?

Scratches. That's it. Scratches.

Gorilla Glass. No need for a screen protector for me. Waste of money imo

Not here to beat the dead horse but let's face it, when your screen cracks from a drop, youre either going to wish you had a glass screen protector or at a minimum, a protection plan with Samsung or your carrier. Hate to break it down to you, but these curve screens are expensive to replace; that is if, you can find a shop that will do it for you. Most likely you'll end up sending it to Samsung and paying a premium.

I've tried a lot of off branded product found on Amazon. Was leaning towards the zagg but the price was just as comparable as the Whitestone Dome. I don't usually endorse a product, but I can definitely advocate in at least looking into the Whitestone Dome as a product that will protect your note 8. Worth it, plus, it's always on sale. Either way, to each their own. Rocking naked is always the best, but I've done and have dropped my previous phones even taking extra precaution, sometimes it just out of your control.

Or get a nice bulky case

Im using these with success.

Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector [2 Pack][Case Friendly][Not Glass], IQ Shield LiQuidSkin Full Coverage Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 HD Anti-Bubble [S Pen Compatible] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072W8X2S...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6091336

Just have to apply pressure to the edges for it to stick. Nice thing us they come in a multipack for cheap money, so if it peels yiu can install a new replacement immediately. But i installed mine back in September and its still going strong.

Just have to be careful not to stretch it.

So, I was at Sam's Club today and they had the snake oil, erm, I mean liquid screen protector called Ghost Guard. It was only $20, so what the heck. I was gonna go naked anyhow.

I applied it. Had enough to do my Gears S3 and tablet, too. I am definitely feel a difference. And fingerprints are totally reduced... by a lot. I did register since it's a $100 warranty. I don't think it will help a cracking or drop situation, but that was never what I wanted. I wanted scratch protection.

So, the snake oil feels good, reduces fingerprints, and has a warranty. If it goes horribly wrong... well that's what insurance is for.

I'm curious if the coating will interfere with another screen protector application if you choose to get one.

Guys I found the best tempered Glass for Note 8...it's full glue glass that's guys perfect and touch is same as original glass...As iam in India I brought from eBay India from seller telson.electronics
it's the best for Note 8...I feel like there is no protector and Ian typing on original screen of Note 8

My experience with the Olixar tempered glass screen protector ended up being very unsatisfactory. I purchased a 2 pack and both came unglued exactly 10 days after I installed. I purchased through Amazon and Olixar refuses to help me out. Amazon does not give me an option to request a replacement or refund. I'm very disappointed in the product and the companies involved.
