Just stating the facts dude... I looked at both phones and made the choice at the Verizon store. The only thing I miss is ICS. When it comes to paying over 200 dollars for a phone it better be made out of metal and Kevlar as far as I am concerned and have the best hardware. I'm sorry but the GN simply fell short of my expectations for a Google flagship. They should have partnered up with Motorola -- the cutting edge of the Android market... The Droid in the word Android.

Yes, because that small amount of Kevlar on the back panel is going to do oh so much to protect the phone.

Motorola is the cutting edge of the Android market? ROFLMAO, quantity does not equal quality, nor does having a metal exterior, or a small patch of kevlar on the phone. I am simply amazed at how many people actually buy into fallacies like that.

You have the Nexus, you bought into all that hype and look at all the complaints on their forum.. The razr is an excellent device. The best there is i believe..

Anyway, sod off back to your own forum rather than trying to embarass yourself on here.. theres a good boy.. This forum is for Razr owners.. not Nexus ones just trolling

Yes, it is a good phone. Second only to the Rezound.

In case you missed, there are plenty of complaints in each of the phone forums. Oh and, no, I didn't buy into any hype. You might be better served speaking for yourself on subjects such as why each of us as individuals choose a phone.

That's great. I don't think you'll find any post of mine stating that the Razr isn't an excellent device.

You do realize that your beliefs are not universal, or absolute?

The only thing I don't like about the Rezound is Sense. I lived with an Incredible for almost 2 years and Sense just bogged it down. Maybe it's different on the Rezound, but I was looking for a change from Sense.

HTC build quality is very good, much better than Samsung and second to only Moto, but it's close. Their designs are boring but they put quality components in their phones.

As for Sense, it's very good and takes Android to the next level. In fact, if you look at ICS, they borrowed some of it's best features from Sense. In fact Matias openly admitted that many of ICS features were taken from the various skins out there.

It is water resistant, definitely a big plus.......verified; and spills and splashes happen
Jus sayin.

Didn't he (pauldroidr2d2) also just post above that he didn't post anything about the Razr not being an excellent phone? Lol. That quote you quoted sounds like it to me.

Biggest problem I've ran into is that many of them are semi-rapid discharge. So when you finally get around to using them a few days later, they're nearly dead... same sorta issue I used to run into when using rechargeable batteries for photo shoots. Would go to pop the batteries into my flash units, and would average 10-30 shots before they were dead.

Hmm.. that makes me wonder if Sanyo has an Eneloop variant of battery pack for phones.. off to do research ;)

I haven't run into this problem with my New Trent pack. I'll let it sit for at least three days in between charges. But maybe it'll degrade after a while. I'll let you know.

Hey...someone mentioned the Rezound...its actually a nice phone. So nice in fact that I will keep both the RAZR and Rezound. And will be checking out HTC phones with antennas on the battery door in the future.

They both excel at something thats important to me...

HTC putting the antenna on the battery door seems like a great idea. Something I knocked them for on another forum. Other manufactures might wanna take notice...

speaking about the rezound i was actually shocked to see my wifes rezound perform just slightly better than my razr in the same low signal area of our basement . not sceintific i know but it did open my eyes to the fact that htc is trying to improve there reception on there phones.

That's because its a Qualcomm chip, and its among the best on the planet.

Pretty much like the one posted by the guy above but the one I bought was the 9000mAH one from New Trent. I can get about three full charges and some change out of it before I need to plug the pack back in.

It seems pretty reliable so far, and can charge up my phone in aboyt a hour and a half if I let it sit. Longer if I actively use it while it is charging..

Let me find it and I'll post a link.

Here is the one I purchased. New Trent iGeek IMP99D 9900mAh External Battery Pack Dual USB ports and Charger for iPad2, iPad, iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G, iPod Touch (1G 2G 3G 4G 5G), Motorola Droid, HTC Android Phone, Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, HTC flyer, and much more:Amazon:
I got the 9900 mAh one, which I had no expectation of it actually acheiving 9900 mAh. I don't know how close it is to it's specified capacity, but like you, I have seen about 4 full charges. It outputs 5V @ 1A just like a wall charger and is pretty stable with the 1A regardless of charge level of the battery pack itself. It charges my phone up in just over 1.25 hours from 5% (same as a wall charger) through the 4 charges. Since the time it takes to charge is consistent, I roughly conclude that it is pretty stable with it's current/voltage profile as the battery depletes. I would recommend this one for anyone looking for an external charger.

Its just a phone? ITS JUST A PHONE I PAID OVER $300 FOR AND GOT A 2 YEAR CONTRACT, !!! Are you serious? They knew they were going to put a phone with a bigger battery. They knew the battery on the RAZR was garbage and that you would have to walk around with a charger in your pocket. They do this to screw people. They want you to buy both. That is what they want. They are the last with updates, they purposely make it difficult for developers to work with their phones and they just do not communicate with US...the buyers of their products. The XOOM was (and still basiclaly is) without use of its SD slot for MONTHS!!!

Last Moto phone for me, unless the Google purchasing of Moto Mobility makes some serious changes.

Where is the Ice Cream Sandwich? WHELP...Another lie! Late as usual and far behind the rest.
Hostile much? LOL
The battery is not garbage. It's a smartphone, a 4G one with a large display at that. You can't go having ridiculous expectations of a device and then call it crap when it doesn't meet those crazy expectations. The battery in the Razr is no appreciably better or worse than any other large screen LTE phone. If you want your phone to have better battery life, you should have purchased a 3G phone, a phone with a smaller screen, or a combination of both, or a phone with a removable battery. You can't blame a phone for your buying decisions. There is always a return window for a device as well, so if the battery really is that big of an issue for you, you could have returned said device.

The rest that you complain about, well it seems you had the opinion prior to purchasing the Motorola phone, so again, that was your decision to purchase the device knowing this: "They are the last with updates, they purposely make it difficult for developers to work with their phones and they just do not communicate with US...the buyers of their products. The XOOM was (and still basiclaly is) without use of its SD slot for MONTHS!!! "

As for the ICS update for the Razr, I don't believe Moto ever stated a date for the update, so just like the Nexus release, the update isn't late. And far beyond the rest? The only device with an official OTA ICS update is the Transformer Prime which has long been known as the first device that would see the update.

It sounds like you want to blame your $300 phone for your poor purchase decision. Just saying.
