Anyone putting stock in Dec 15th?

Meh, I'm sticking to my strategy. If it doesn't come out on the 15th, I'm getting a GSM version on Newegg and having them overnight it to me. I'm heading out of town for 2 weeks this Saturday so I want it by then. I'd rather have Verizon's network, but I'd rather have Tmo's prices. Plus, I'll probably only keep the phone for 6 months anyways, so I'd be better off with the international version as far as resale value is concerned.

LTE is kind of lame to me. Sure it's nice, but the only time it's good for anything is when you need to use up tons of bandwidth (Netflix), but then you have data limits so that's kind defeats the purpose. I prefer HSPA+ anyway - it's fast enough and is way better on battery life. 32 gb would be nice, but i've been getting by on 8 for the last 2 years - even 16 gb will feel like a lot.

I'd say it HAS to be out sometime this week.....why would my Atlanta store have it out on display if they weren't planning on selling it in the next 5 days?

You are kidding yourself. Even if you didn't really want it for use on the phone... which you do... it makes a great WiFi hotspot.

Nope. I have 4g right now and I never use it. I have to leave it off for battery purposes, but even if it weren't a battery hog, I'd rarely use it. I do all my bandwidth hogging at home or at work on wifi.

Also, again, it's not like wifi hotspots are free AND you have capped data so what's the point? Don't get me wrong, LTE would be nice, but it's not worth 30-40 bucks a month more vs Tmo. Verizon's network might, but not LTE.

so you have wimax with your evo 3d and think that compares to verizon's lte??? You must be another one of "those" guys who thinks it is even close.

I get 10 mb or so in Manhattan, that's as good if not better than my Time Warner connection at home, and I still never use it. LTE is probably faster, but since I never use it, the point is moot. It's not like I'm going to start watching HD Youtube videos while walking down the street just because they load a little faster now. You might use it, and I can see lots of uses for LTE. But unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) I never use it, so I don't really care that much about it.

We don't all have bandwidth caps or pay for tethering or have wifi at work.

No you're right, and if I had unlimited data from a grandfathered plan on Verizon, LTE would mean more to me. But, like I said, to me, LTE isn't a big deal because I do have wifi at work and will have a data cap and will have to pay for tethering on Verizon. So, for me, it's kinda lame.

I have always kinda thought of Wimax as 3.5G

But Sprint has always been horrid in my parts anyways so more like 2.5G if it works

I tried to reach out to the exec. who sent me the email I posted in this thread earlier, but got no response. He doesn't usually respond to me at all though, so I'm not surprised. I've sent him maybe 10 e-mails, and while he's only responded twice, he's always been much more open about re: the GN than anyone else. Told him to contact me in the morning if anything has changed.

so if you don't care about speeds and have wifi why do you need the latest phone if you aren't going to use it that way?

I put as much stock in the 15th rumor as I do about all these people who are posting that they have one and how terrible it is. Not until Verizon makes official announcement ... they got me on the 9th, not getting me again!

Bleh. Third Party Reseller who got his update on the phone from the Internet created an internal document that could be wrong as hell.

I wouldn't put in any faith in it even if it were an official Verizon document. It only means 12/15 is the current target date IF all bugs are fixed and the phone's ready in time.

Verizon's already made last-minute pushbacks of several target dates, if prior evidence is to be believed. There's nothing to indicate that 12/15 should be any different.

If the phone's ready on the day, it'll launch. If not, VZW will issue another emergency "DON'T SELL" notification to stores and resellers and another target date will slip by. We're at the point where rumors and evidence are pointless and only a statement directly from VZW is reason to get excited.

I don't know why people seem so convinced that this phone has bugs. I think version 4.1 is ready for prime time and the delays were unrelated (4g outages or low stock?).

I called my local Verizon store. Actually 2 verizon stores. They said they have not received stock yet with the device. But do expect 5 to be coming in. I asked if I could put a hold on one and they weren't willing to until I told him I have at&t and im switching my contract. There eyes probably lite up like a christmas tree. But I asked when can I get it and they said possible tomorrow(wed) or thursday.

Both stores said thursday. So I'm guessing there has been an email that was sent out. Hopefully that is the launch date
