Maybe they delayed it because last week 4.1 wasn't ready for prime time and wanted another week to test it to be ready for as soon as the phones are activated?

Stopped at my local Verizon store yesterday. Salesman told me they had "about 100" of these in the back, waiting for the word to offer them.
take my word with a grain of salt.. but when i made a visit to the gastonia corporate store on franklin, he said they were supposed to launch on the ninth, but now that has changed to the 15th.

Hey Bros, while I was grinding my feet on Eddie Murphy's couch, I over heard Prince talkin about the G-Nex release date. He said it would be coming on the 32nd. I know right, my mind was blown too!! VZW is gonna extend the month just for the G-NEX!!!! Sounds great right??? Wrong!!!! If you're still reading this post, it means you're awesome, and you like bedtime stories!!! CHEERS!!!

I like how Engadget claims an Exclusive on this when two other Android sites (Droid Life and droiddog) already leaked it.
But ya, as early as the 15th definitely doesn't give us stable ground but it's something I guess.

Why? It's highly likely they won't even make a PR statement until the day of release. If they do, it'll be tomorrow, they won't do it two days early. Bionic was one of the worst launches in recent history, and so highly hyped and anticipated, they announced it the day before.
