Anyone still hasn't received the 7.1.1 OTA update??

Tried Beta download, went for over an hour phone saying it was downloading 7.1.1, could see lights on dsl modem blinking but never stopped. Went to PC and un-enrolled to stop it.....Still on 7.0, ??? something is wrong for sure.... Guess I should be happy, with some workaround apps., everything works. I wish they would actually list the bug fixes in 7.1.1, instead of just the new whiz-bang features I wouldn't use anyway....

I used the same trick to get the stable Nougat build right after I got my 5X. I was worried about being forced to wipe the phone but never got any notification to do so. Google could communicate this a bit better. I only tried it because I saw a lot of posts from people that unenrolled and weren't required to wipe the phone.
A beta version will always demand a wipe. Once out of beta, the need for a wipe no longer exists so it's not required.

Talked to Google Fi, they seem to not know why my 5X has not been ungraded to 7.1 or 7.1.1. And offered no solution???? I'm skeptical a bug has not been resolved for 5X. Mine will still not go to strongest cell signal which is Sprint in my neighborhood and stays on weaker T-Mobile signal. I have to force it over with the Fi switch app. I think Fi has already abandoned this phone!
We're using Project Fi and have no switching issues with either the 5X or the Pixel XL. Sometimes it's T-Mobile, and sometimes it's Sprint, but it's more often T-Mobile with the stronger signal in our area.

I have no idea why some of us did not automatically receive the 7.1.1 update for our 5X phones, but I do know the issue was not carrier specific.

Google Fi reps., on phone, keep telling me the update release is up to the carrier, but then don't say which carrier? They all, so far claim ignorance of issue......very suspicious..... If I hear correctly, Sprint a CDMA, can use some Verizon towers, which are predominantly in my area.

Project Fi users receive their updates directly from the mothership. Neither Sprint, T-Mobile, nor US Cellular have anything to do with your phone's updates.

Project Fi reps handle questions about Project Fi. It's doubtful that Project Fi reps have much in the way of in-depth knowledge regarding operating system update issues. That's just not their area of expertise, so I would take anything they say about updates with a grain of salt.

EDIT: By the way, downloading the update via the beta channel may very well take quite some time, depending on your download speed... it's a very large download.

So far, Fi support has been NO support for any phone problem. I have to solve all problems from forums. My DSL is slow for sure, and I could see the size of the download, but with no graphic display of the operation, I could not tell what was going on, (why I terminated it). I now see some posts of 5X owners having hiccups with 7.1.1. concerning Blue Tooth and some other bugs...I'll stay with 7.0 for now..But being behind two issues of security updates seems unacceptable..these days....

Not sure where you are seeing Bluetooth issues...the 5x is more smooth and stable in every way on 7.1.1. 7.0 made me want to change phones, 7.1.1 has fixed that.

I did notice that when downloading the update via the beta channel the phone just showed "downloading." There was nothing to indicate the ongoing status of the download, e.g., no indication of percent downloaded, etc. That was a little disconcerting because I'm used to being able to watch the progress of downloads... so, I just walked away and stopped watching. When I did come back to check, the update had finished downloading and was ready to be installed. I have a pretty fast broadband connection; if you have DSL, you should expect the download to take quite a while.

I'm in the habit of wiping the cache partition both before and after an update to the operating system. That's just something I've made a habit of doing with Android phones, and it's often recommended to clear up post-update issues. Thus far, the 5X is running smoothly after the system update and I have no reason to anticipate otherwise.

I finally got 7.1.1 OTA on my Nexus 5x just now. I received the January security update for 7.0 last week so figured 7.1.1 must have been delayed for some unannounced reason, so I'm actually a bit surprised it finally came. Anyway, I'm not in the beta program, not on Poject Fi, nothing. Just a regular stock user on T-Mobile.

Update: Interestingly, the 7.1.1 OTA that I got was at the December security patch level, and then immediately after 7.1.1 finished installing it then got a second OTA to get it to the January security patch level. So in the last 30 minutes I went from 7.0 with January patch to 7.1.1 with December patch to 7.1.1 with January patch.

I had the same scenario just last night... Received 7.1.1 OTA and Dec security update then the Jan patch after the phone rebooted.
