Anyone switching back to iPhone?

For me that would mean choosing a phone with a good app ecosystem. That is my primary criteria. There are multiple apps I've allowed myself to form a dependency on. Tsk tsk. Windows Phone and Blackberry, are, therefore, not an option (and Blackberry smells funny too). After that do I choose the smoothest, simplest, most lag-free experience with the highest quality apps and camera qualities I prefer OR do I choose big screens, feeling adventurous, more robust customization, and the option of removable media and batteries? Depending on what season it is when I'm answering these questions drives whether or not I'll choose iOS or Android.

Removable media, batteries and screen size are my factors for choosing. iOS could be a potential choice for me if they didn't fail to make the iPhone's screen width proportionate to its length.

I think Apple needs two screen sizes. Many people absolutely love the portability now, but many want a big screen. Battery is good and media is removable.

There are rumors iPhone 6 may have two screen sizes. And if not the 6 will have a bigger screen around 4.7 inches or so. Nothing like a Note 3 screen

The only problem with that is if Apple will keep the width dimensions the same or increase it to compensate for the larger screen length-wise.

The standby battery of the iPhone 5S is outstanding. If you are a person like me that only uses their phone for short periods of time throughout the day, the iPhone is great. After a long work day I have about 75 percent battery left. I'm not streaming videos or playing games though.

Yeah my Note 3 doesn't have issues with standby either... 3 hours of screen time during that as well :).

That would be alright. I think the note takes the cake for the phab market. There is a large segment there and Apple should pay attention.

I couldn't go back to a 'small' screen again. Plus I like the customization of Android. However, I've gone back to the iPhone three or four times but I always come back to Android in a few weeks. Haha

So...what size is a "normal" screen?

Considering half of Verizon's phones sold are iPhones, I would say 4" would be considered normal on Verizon.

It's relative. I see why there is interest in bigger screens but I also see why consumers would not want them. And what people believe to be too big or too small will change over time.

On my note 3, and the scrolling seems all jacked up. Is it because I have been using my iphone, or has the phone developed a jitter bug?

The scrolling is definitely not as smooth.

I guess I never noticed until I had ios in hand. Having nothing to compare it to seems to to make it no big deal, but man does it show next to ios.

Also, I use several apps including google + that are available on both platforms. They *all* have more polish on apples platform and seem more thought out and fluid.

Just an observation I have missed with my head buried in android for so long.

I wonder why.

I wouldn't say it is a earth shattering. Difference as the scrolling on the note 3 is just fine, but little *freezes* or *skips* seem more noticeable next to a os that doesn't do that.

I have used a 5S as well as the Note 3 and the scrolling does have a few skips occasionally. The 5S doesn't have that issue. Apple does a very good job optimizing it's software for it's hardware. Android is a little harder since there is so much different hardware out there.

I think the Google apps run better on Android devices. However I do agree that some apps run better on iOS. Anyhow I think the difference in performance between iOS and Android stopped being an issue in 2012.

I would disagree. Even though I have been a really big Android fan, Android still has some issues with performance and many of the apps don't work as well on Android devices like they do on iOS. I have a few issues with app performance on Android. Firstly, two of the last three Android devices I have had have been Nexus devices. Whenever the operating system was updated by Google, a quarter of the apps that I had downloaded to my device no longer worked. I would have to wait days to months for the apps to be updated. This would happen almost every time there was an update. Secondly, the apps don't always fit the design language of Android, therefore, some of the apps feel like they don't fit with the operating system. The availability is there, the quality is getting better, but there are still some issues. The last thing that I'm going to say about Android and I preface this by saying that I want to believe different because I like Android a lot, but...I find myself confused as to the direction and future of Android. You hear reports that the Nexus line is going to be discontinued, or Samsung is going with Tizen and distancing themselves from Android, HTC is going out of business, and who knows what Sony is going to be for the platform. You hear these things and have to wonder what is going on with Android. Not saying Apple is better, because Android is definitely more innovative and exciting in so many facets of the mobile space, but with Apple, I know what to expect. I'm pretty sure that iOS will be sustained. That makes me feel more comfortable. Call me a sheep; I'm fine with that. But I can count on Apple to give me what I need.

Android is the most popular OS in the world. I don't think it's going anywhere soon.
