Anyone switching back to iPhone?

4" is way to small this days. 5"+ is minimum..:) Did use iPhone 5s few months but way to small in every aspect. Iphone is still very fast and works nice, but to small.

I was reminded today once again why I can never have an iPhone. They use iPhone 4s here at work and I have to pretty much squint to see every darn thing. Ridiculous. I don't care how good it's made and runs (I'll concede that point) but it is just TO DARN SMALL. That along with its boring home screens will never work for me. I need BIG and I need something I can change the look of regularly to keep me entertained. I admit it, I probably have a small attention span but such is the life of an IT Professional. Apple has a very loyal fan base (similar to Harley motor cycles). It doesn't mean it's the best thing on the block, just that they have marketed their product to have that certain "mystique" and that probably won't go away any time soon. Doesn't matter. I march to the beat of my own drummer and right now it's saying the Note 3 is the first phone to really meet all my needs/wants in such a complete way. Couple that with the new Galaxy Gear I just picked up and I have now found technology nirvana. :D

The Note 3 makes a lot of sense if you don't have a tablet or don't want to carry your tablet with you. A lot of screen real estate can be a good thing.

I will never buy an iPhone. I will always buy the Note series. The best launcher for me is the Go Ex launcher. Much better than Touchwiz. I am using the Note 2, but will upgrade to the Note 4.

What kind of tablet do you have?

I am using the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. I use it to read books than anything else. Will look into the Pro 12.2 later this year. And you?

iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina. With your Tab 2 the Note 2 seems a good companion.

When I decided to get the Note 3, I also decided to get rid of any tablets I had (Nook HD+ and Galaxy Tab 2 10in). I did keep my Kindle Paperwhite 3G just because I still prefer reading books on that. I suspected that I really wouldn't need a full size tablet and that I could get by just with my Note. I was totally correct. If I need to see something bigger, I just use my computer. My Note3 can do almost anything I need and I have fewer devices to keep up with.

I would disagree. Even though I have been a really big Android fan, Android still has some issues with performance and many of the apps don't work as well on Android devices like they do on iOS. I have a few issues with app performance on Android. Firstly, two of the last three Android devices I have had have been Nexus devices. Whenever the operating system was updated by Google, a quarter of the apps that I had downloaded to my device no longer worked. I would have to wait days to months for the apps to be updated. This would happen almost every time there was an update. Secondly, the apps don't always fit the design language of Android, therefore, some of the apps feel like they don't fit with the operating system. The availability is there, the quality is getting better, but there are still some issues. The last thing that I'm going to say about Android and I preface this by saying that I want to believe different because I like Android a lot, but...I find myself confused as to the direction and future of Android. You hear reports that the Nexus line is going to be discontinued, or Samsung is going with Tizen and distancing themselves from Android, HTC is going out of business, and who knows what Sony is going to be for the platform. You hear these things and have to wonder what is going on with Android. Not saying Apple is better, because Android is definitely more innovative and exciting in so many facets of the mobile space, but with Apple, I know what to expect. I'm pretty sure that iOS will be sustained. That makes me feel more comfortable. Call me a sheep; I'm fine with that. But I can count on Apple to give me what I need.

I don't have such issues with my Note 3. I am not one of those people who downloads tons of apps just because I can. I keep only what I need and use. Everything else goes. If an app causes me a problem and it isn't a necessity, that goes too. All of the ones I have run perfectly fine on my Note 3. No complaints at all. For whatever difference you might see between how iPhone runs it and how Android runs it, it is NOT ever going to be enough to make me leave my N3 and go to Apple. Oh and there is that whole size issue. For as good as the iPhone is, I just can't stand its puny size. Maybe if it bumped up to at least 5.5 I'd look at it but even that's a big "IF". Sorry, but iPhones just end up boring me in the end.

There's definitely not a lot to iPhones or iOS. Compared to Android, I can see how iOS can be boring. And the screen size has been an area of concern for many consumers contemplating getting an iPhone. However, the iPhone features that are advertised, work better than any other plaform/device.

I realized that I don't need the phone itself to be "exciting". I'll play games for that. What I need is for the phone's OS to get out of the way of what I'm wanting to do. IOS does that far better for me than android and I love it for that.

And that's why I like iOS as well. But there are a lot of people out there that love to customize their devices, who seek enjoyment in the multitude of options that are available on Android. For those who like that, I can completely understand how they would gravitate toward Android and at the same time believe that the iPhone is boring.

If you watch youtube videos of reviews between the iPhone 5s vs Note 3 or S4... iPhone features are no where close to these two devices. There was an article that was released after testing the iPhone s that proved that the touch sensitivity technology on the iPhone 5s was not not even better than that of the S3.

Nothing wrong with that. I have given Samsung a lot of dough!

I am a samsung fan girl lol

I used to use iPhones up until 2012 when my iPhone 4 was stolen. Got a Samsung galaxy Y to use for 2 months whilst waiting for an upgrade. Intended to get the iPhone 4S but then I discovered The original note and upgraded to that instead. After that I got the S4. I wanted to try and see if I could use the iPhone again so got a 5S in January this year. I only lasted 28 days and came back to the note 3. Can't imagine using another phone now. Samsung have it on lockdown lol

I'll take your word for it but if what I have works just fine for me, does it really matter if it works better on an iPhone? It isn't that serious and the Note 3 gives me to many things (aside from the whole app thing) that the iPhone can't. In the end though, I could NEVER get past that small screen now. Just not happening.

It matters to me, but we seem to have different preferences which is fine. What I believe is important, you may not and vice versa. If the Note 3 is a good device for you then that's a good thing. I owned one and I thought it was an awesome device. And I didn't give it up because I had problems with it. I wanted an iPhone because I prefer the Apple ecosystem. There are some advantages and disadvantages naturally. But again, it's personal preference. No worries.

True. I always compare it to Harley owners. They too are very loyal and you could argue the merits of which is better, a Harley or one of the Japanese bikes. In the end, it's simply what you like and what works for you. I think iPhone users and Android users place importance on entirely different things. I am speaking generally here but obviously people prefer phones that do the things that are important to them really well. Most of the iPhone loyalists I have met care nothing about the things I find important and are more concened with getting on and off with no fuss and of course having all the apps and ecosystem. they tend to prefer smaller phones (obviously) and don't need their phone to do much beyond what the downloaded apps give them. Just my observations. My family is split between Apple and Android and those conclusions certainly fit with them.

Yep Williams just likes the Apple ecosystem... Just like I prefer the google / android one... Nothing wrong with it.. We are just both on different sides of the fence :).

But we both agree that nothing is wrong with the other side.. I just have a preference to one and he does as well.
