Anyone switching back to iPhone?

I wouldn't call iPhones garbage by any means. They are very nice devices infact. Just depends what you like.

Personally I really like android and the openness it provides but millions of people choose iphones

iPhones are definitely not garbage. When I've tire away from iOS it is not. Evacuee I don't like the iPhone, it's because I'm curious about other devices. I like my 5S more than the Note 3 and Nexus 5 that I recently owned. But even if I prefer iOS and the iPhone, I will always try other platforms. I almost bought a Nokia Lumia 1520 the other day because the screen looked incredible. But there are some missing features and apps that prevent me from trying it.

IPhone is garbage, any flagship android phone is better if you don't like this phone there are many other manufacturers that make great phones, I mean look at the Sony xerpia line. Everyone of their phones are pretty and well made and also water and dust resistant. I can see what you mean by the apple app store having more depth, but the Google play is not very far behind and very soon it will surpass the apple app store. Because android controls over 70% of the market share in every market. Apple is falling behind and if they don't get with times they may end up like blackberry

While of may not meet your needs, Iphone certainly isn't garbage. It is a very well designed phone. Also, Apple still has a strong lead in US market share compared to other manufacturers. Android does have about 52% market share though in the us. Worldwide market share is different. The numbers are similar to Verizon where half of all smartphones sold at iPhones.

I suppose for some people the iPhone is perfect. I think after using Android it s impossible for me to go back to using an iPhone. I did try but couldn't settle with it. I don't think I could justify getting an iPhone again when Android phones do so much more.

Naa...iPhone is not garbage, IMO (so many forget the value of that acronym). It is certainly different from Android. ...and yes, there is no iPhone with a 5.7" screen, but there is a rMini with a beautiful 7.9". With the almost telepathic ease of jailbreaking you have all the customization any maniac might want...and all the fun that goes with it. You should check the iMore jailbreaking homescreen threads, don't take my humble word for it.

I had iPhones before I got a Note 2, then a Iphone 5, then a S4, then back to Iphone 5. Now I got a Note 3 on the way and can't wait. I think this will be the keeper. But I am tired of the **** poor battery life, and small screen on the iphone. And done waiting for Apple to update to a bigger screen.

Well, for what it's worth, I think Apple will be coming out with a Phablet line (something I don't think we'd have seen under Jobs) but I still think the Note line is the Gold Standard for Phablets just like the iPad is for tablets. I love mine. There is nothing currently out there that makes me want to give this up and I could NEVER go to that tiny screen no matter if I liked Apple or not.

You're right. The iPhone is not garbage at all but I do hate when people say you can do everything with it "if" you jailbreak it. Most people won't and still they get it. I think the true measure of a phone is what it does out of the box which is how most people will use it.

You have a point, but the point also goes to show that most iPhone owners have no desire for the level of customization that jailbreaking offers. For those that have an interest in customizing there's the jailbreak. Just like there's rooting and custom ROMs for those that want that level of customization. There are only a couple of Android phones I enjoy without rooting/ROMing. The Note 3 and S4. For everything else I need root access to get the simple level of customization I desire with the performance I demand.

You're a very demanding guy Haalcyon but you're ok. I'm a techie but for some odd reason never really got into that whole thing. I like my phones to do what I want/need out of the box. The Note is amazing that way so I can only imagine how it might be if it were rooted but I also tend to like some of the additional stuff the carrier puts on there (some, not all). For now, I'm good with my NON-Rooted (is that a word? :p) Note 3

That's the great thing about the Note 3, you don't NEED to root it to do simple things like change the font. It has so much utility that it's just a great device for the person that wants a jack-of-all-trades. ...and the screen? Delicious.

Re: Anyone switching back to Iphone?

I've had my Note 3 since Sep 2013 and I love it...but...I do miss the music app! Google play and their policy of locking music into their player is depressing. Everything that drew me to the Android software/hardware platform is exactly the opposite of how Google strongarms users into using only their player to listen to music they have legally purchased. I know there are workarounds, but we shouldn't have to use workarounds for this issue.

Google is showing their *** on the music player issue.

It's a balancing act that some get better than others. Give the customer what they want or do what makes the business the most $$$.

This is why I buy my music from Amazon as I refuse to use the Google play app to listen to my music. To be able to listen to it in another app you need to download it to your computer and then transfer to your phone. I haven't got time for that.

I've used iTunes since 2001, and will likely never leave it, as there's over 130GB of music that is not worth relocating. iSyncr worked reasonably well for getting tunes and playlists on my various Android devices though there Android music players I tried would not play the .AIF files I saved some of my remiixes in. iTunes, seems to just work well for me though I know many loathe its very creation.

I've been using iTunes for 9 years. I think it is easy to use and it works, unlike kies. However, I much prefer managing my music and videos on android. The presence of a proper filling system and the ability to drag and drop is more appealing to me.

The only difference is waiting for JB for the new versions can sometimes be fast... And other times you have to wait months.

When I had my iPhone back in the day I used to JB always.. But did get really tired of not being able to update since the JB took forever. With Android I've been able to root pretty much right away and do whatever.

But that being said I don't hate iPhone. I have a few friends with them and they love it... I even had my parents get them and they love it.. It's easy and they can Face Time with relatives.

Facetime was my big incentive to switch to iOS. The rest of the family has iOS and missed being able to see my little Captain America throughout the day. Now I can see him anytime and its great!

Just curious what's wrong with the music app from Google? I understand some like other apps just curious if it was a specific reason.
