anyone tranfer iphone whatsup chat history to note 8

A friend purchased the note 8 has an iphone 7..it seems the few apps that claim to do it don't work ..any ideas ..he is quite disappointed as I convinced him to buy it and I didn't realise this would be so difficult plus the same applies to an app called line which is similar and big in Asia where he based.

the only way he can do it it's using the original SIM amd number.
he will need to insert the original SIM into the note 8 then downloaded it that way.
WhatsApp uses the phone number to encrypt the data so it linked just to that number.
The other option is to put the new SIM in to the iPhone and change the number via the app.
then put the SIM back into the note 8 uninstall WhatsApp and then reinstall it and go from there

Can't u just back up your whatsapp through your email.. Then just go into email on new phone and say restore... Or back up.. Can't remember... Thats how I did it...

I know we can keep the account but how about transferring chats

I back up my chats on Google drive and when swapped phone just installed them from backup

You can't port chats from IPhone (which backs up to iCloud) to an android device (which uses Google Drive) by simply swapping the sim over. There are some programs out there that purport to be able to do this but I found their reviews sketchy at best. I gave up in the end and have survived starting afresh.
