Apple allowing new lines with unlimited?

Cnotes,

I know we discussed this before when this glitch came out. I had ordered 64 space gray plus then I had second thoughts and cancelled the order. I am thinking of going through with the add a line this time but I have a question for you.

My current plan is - 700 minute talk and text
Primary line- Unlimited data
Second line- Basic
Third line- 6GB max plan

I was reading on macforums today that JULESJAM says that 700 minute talk and text plan isnt compatible? Is this correct? When I ordered back in september i had no issue with the order going through but I decided to cancel the order. Anyways today I went through the process of doing an add a line on my current plan the UNLIMITED IPHONE showed up and I got up the final step but didn't pull the trigger on it. I would like have it shipped to home. I'm I going to have a problem doing it?

THanks

Obviously, I'm not cnotes, but you will be fine. If the unlimited iPhone plan shows up as an option, that means your current plan is eligible. I'm not sure where JULESJAM got his information as I have the same plan as you (though two lines with unlimited data) and can order an unlimited iPhone line if I wanted.

Did anyone ever figure out if it works to order an unlimited iPhone plan, return iPhone for something android and keep unlimited plan?

Do some searching on macrumors and slickdeals as I've seen something to this affect; though, I can't remember where. If I remember correctly (and don't quote me), if you activate another phone on the new line before returning the new iPhone, the line should stick.

Do not offer to buy or sell plans. Android Central doesn't allow it.

I have 2 unlimited dusts lines with iphone 4. We have 700 shared mins, pay $10 a month each for 500 texts and the unlimited data as I mentioned. I went to apple.com and saw the option for unlimited data for 29.99 when adding a new line. If I added 2 lines and had the phones come in could I transfer both are numbers to the new line and cancel our old lines right away? So then I would be left with a new 2 year contract but with the same plan we have now. Does this seem reasonable and work? I don't want to lose our current numbers. Thanks for any and all responses!

Your current lines under contract? If not, you can freely port to page plus then to your new UDP lines I believe. Not totally sure though

You would have to port the number out and then back into Verizon. It might take awhile before you can port it back.

Any other good options? Just don't want to pay full price. I am not under contract currently on the two lines I have UDP

So does anyone know if I add two new lines with UDP through apple.com that I can then move my number and wife's number to those new lines and cancel the existing 2 lines. I am not under contract with the two current lines. Basically trying to upgrade to the new iphone 6 for my wife and 6+ for me without paying full price and losing out UDPs. Any and all responses appreciated!!

In theory it is very possible, just as long as the lines you want to transfer over are out of contract, as you stated. I would reconfirm with a supervisor in the "Porting Department".

It's not possible the way you want to do it as Verizon does not allow switching of phone numbers like that between lines. Verizon only allows people to switch devices and not lines. If you ordered to two new iPhones from Apple.com with new UDP, you'll have 4 lines on your account. In order to switch your old numbers to the new lines, you'll need to port your old numbers to a different carrier first and then port them to the new lines.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend doing what you are thinking of doing. Instead, I'd tell you to look at the Best Buy method for extending your contract and getting new phones at discounted prices.

How do I do the best buy method? Our SIM cards are very old as we have iphone 4's. Is best buy method full proof?

No option buying on subsidized plan and keeping unlimited data is fool proof. The only 100% guaranteed option is to not buy a subsidized phone. If you have iphone 4 then you will have to acquire a 4GLTE smartphone and sim and have it active on the line first before using the best buy method.

I am pretty sure that the iPhone 4 doesn't have sim card slot
