I couldn't see a hardware issue, maybe I'm wrong but couple other phones I know can do that.
Why would you need it at all times?Wonder if we can enable 120hz all the time in developer settings![]()
The Ultra has 120 at all times except you can't use it at the highest resolution if that's what you mean. It is a hardware limitation. So If any s20 owners checked developer settings and can tell us might give a indication if the Upcoming Note can
Maybe this will be available via an update, or through developer settings...I couldn't see a hardware issue, maybe I'm wrong but couple other phones I know can do that.
Thats a possibilityI was thinking about this again this morning and maybe the reason they don't allow 120hz at wqhd is due to their own Exynos chips have issues with battery life using 120hz at wqhd? The OnePlus pro has it, the Pixel 4 series didn't seem to have issues with battery life when I ran it at 90hz all the time. I think their user base would be pretty upset if the SD version could do this but the Exynos version could not.
Maybe maybe not, its just frustrating that a $1,300 2020 phone has this limitation.

I seen it was adaptive, I was wondering is that in highest resolution or next resolution down ?The Ultra has 120 at all times except you can't use it at the highest resolution if that's what you mean. It is a hardware limitation.

I seen your unboxing of Mate xs the other day, not a bad gadget.Yeah us Exynos users are not the happiest but it is what it is and people will vote with their wallets, I understand how people get annoyed by this, the Snapdragon 865 was already a superior chip in the S20 series and now with the Snapdragon 865+ in the new Note series, even more so.
It's strange how these companies work sometimes, surely they will lose sales over this issue, they might as well have enabled 120hz @ WQHD in the 865+ just to p! §§ us off even more lol.

Wow. I just checked out the page for fun and they are giving $550 for a Note 9 trade in?????
I'm still on the fence about the Note 20. Those who have not already done pre-ordering, do you plan to upgrade or are you gonna stick with the Note10 for now? The price for the Ultra gives me anxiety. That alone may keep me from upgrading. I'd like to see what promos the carriers come up with. Will there be any freebies? Any decent discounts? Hopefully Best Buy will get a demo soon so I can see it in person. Maybe that will help me make up my mind.
What website page are you referring to? Do you have a link? I have a friend with a Note 9 from Sprint, the Sprint website does not even list the Note 9 as a trade-in phone, but it does list the older Note 8 and current Note 10+. Sprint is offering a pathetic $73 trade-in for the Note 8 and $355 for the Note 10+. My buddy wants to trade in his phone, but Sprint is not an option, is there a better place for higher trade-in value for his Sprint Note 9 phone? Thanks!
Go to Samsung's website. Your friend can trade his Note 9 and get $550 for it towards the new Note 20 Ultra.
