Are you gonna buy it?

How is it cheaper than the HTC 10???

Here in Germany the HTC 10 sells for 549 to 600€. The Pixel phone starts at 769€..

The new pixel phones also do not have OIS: The Pixel and Pixel XL's cameras do not have optical image stabilization (OIS)

Please explain to me, how is the Pixel phone better than the HTC 10? I can only see an advantage in the timely OS updates. Apart from that, there is absolutely nothing that is better on the pixel phone..
In the US, the HTC 10 originally retailed at $699. It currently retails at $648. The Pixel phone has a better processor, better camera, AMOLED screen, and it has free unlimited Google Photos full-resolution image and video backup space.

As of this post, I'm not getting it.

Of course, I could change my mind and pull the trigger in 5 minutes, or I could still be using my 6P this time next year. Dunno.

Man, I'd absolutely love one, but my employer covers 1/2 my bill so long as I'm on Sprint. This Verizon only exclusive is awful.

What about the 150$ you get now if you purchase it in the US?

We do not know if the AMOLED screen is better. We will have to wait and see. Better processor? The difference is minor to negligible.
The unlimited Google Photos space is definitely nice, but I do not see how this makes the Pixel Phone a better smartphone.
I would like to know what kind of audio capabilities the pixel phones have. I would like to know their battery life.
What about a built-in DAC? Does it support high res audio?
How is the quality of the single speaker?
Better camera? If we are to believe DXOMark then the difference is by a single point..I cannot really believe that the pixel is better, with no OIS..
So many questions..I think it is safer to wait for proper reviews. It is definitely very premature to say that the pixel phone is better than the HTC 10, or other phones.
I would love to have one, to be honest, but I cannot justify the price difference. My HTC 10 works perfect.

Only if V20 and "fixed" Note 7 both get bad consumer reviews. I don't trust any professional reviews.

Well.... the camera for one is better. Then there is the voice assistant. I agree that it is an expensive phone. But I feel it is in line with other flagships phones today.

You really believe that the Google Assistant will be a Pixel phone exclusive? Google is not crazy.

You will see the Pixel launcher and the Google assistant coming to all phones very soon. Also, if you use Allo, you get the Google assistant already.

Yes, the price is in line with Samsung and Apple. HTC unfortunately does not have the marketing brand to do this. That does not mean though that these phones are better. As I said, I think the Pixel is a nice phone. It is just not the best phone out there..

Yeah I wish I could get it on JUMP. I'm gonna try and get it unlocked online or finish paying off my best buy card. Those are my only 2 options.

The $150 off is a temporary sale price. AMOLED screens are almost always better than LCD displays. At least one initial hands-on review said the phone is very, very fast.

The unlimited Google Photos space means I would never have to worry about filling up the 32GB that comes with the phone. I would like to know about the battery life and DAC as well. I expect the DAC to be as good as what we find on other HTC devices. Like virtually everyone, I don't care about high resolution audio. Battery life is surely going to be better than what my Note 5 offers.

According to Technobuffalo, the phone has two speakers on the bottom. OIS really only matters for videos in my opinion and if the video they showed is accurate, there is nothing to worry about there.

My point with all this is that the phone is priced appropriately for the level of quality and performance.

Nope. I see nothing here that is significantly improved from my Nexus 6 especially now that it has Nougat. I expect the Google Assistant and the final version of the Pixel launcher to be ported over to Nexus devices and I'll have the same experience. I'd like to use Daydream VR but it's not worth $900.

Well we don't know yet if it is the best phone out there. The general public/reviewers don't have it yet. But it has the best rated smartphone camera to date. For me this is the first Nexus/Google phone that doesn't seem to have compromises they have in the past. I have had just about every Nexus phone and Android flagship phone the last few years.

Not sure about Google assistant being an exclusive. Too early to tell to be honest.

I'm not really feeling the Pixel phones. I don't like the glass patch on the back and the bezel's are quite large for them not to have front facing speakers. Coming from a Nexus 6 I thing that I am going to go with the LG V20. I just want to hold a V20 in my hand 1st before I decide.

I hope you're right about the Pixel launcher features and full Google Assistant functionality coming to other phones. The one differentiator is the full resolution photo backup, but the high resolution backup is still pretty good, at least for my purposes.

I'm eager to see hands on reviews and comparisons to the 6p, which is my current phone. I've been very happy with this phone, but the battery life could be better. My wife's new iPhone 7 battery life leaves me in the dust.

I respectfully disagree :)

AMOLED screens are not always better. There are many people that will tell you otherwise. I am saying, let's wait and see.

What about Google Music? I want to have at least 10GB of my music always on my device. This is difficult on a 32GB device. On my HTC 10, I can store the music on the SD card.
There is only one bottom facing speaker. (unfortunately)

My point is that you are paying for the Google name, with the build quality of HTC.
Why not pay HTC directly and get the better deal?

I will definitely be getting it but not right away. Will be getting the Quite Black XL 128 GB. I personally don't like purchasing anything that has a bright color on it.

Sure they look beautiful but I don't want to risk getting them dirty and have them overtime lose their clean and sleek look. So Very Silver is out of the question.

Also anyone else think that Really Blue is a terrible shade of blue?

According to Android Police the Pixel launcher will be exclusive to the pixel phones at the beginning. The Google assistant is definitely coming everywhere..
I have 2 years of free Google drive storage (100GB) and that allows me full resolution backup..
