No it doesn't. Most everybody is going to throw it into a case anyway. And by the way, several of the hands-on impression videos I saw today said it is an attractive device in person.
I never doubted its attractive look and feel. But this is a top notch device, that falls into the category of iPhones, and Galaxy S and Note series devices, at that price point, they could have made it more attractive.
Let me make my point clear once again. I am an iPhone owner, but I am not some kind of crazy apple fanboy. Android too is a great OS. Google did a great job with Pixel XL smartphone. The new google assistance, is one step ahead than Siri, its integration with google home and the overall the usage of google home has brought home automation to the next level, which apple haven't achieved yet.
Coming back to the topic, Pixel devices lie into the category of iPhones, Galaxy S & Note series category (Nexus were more of midrange devices). So at this price point, google could have made it as beautiful as HTC 10 and iPhone 7. Look at HTC 10, its one of the most beautiful device and its performance is best.
Having an finger print scanner at the back sounds bit impractical. instead of having a huge gap in the bottom, and home button having fingerprint scanner would have been better.
