Android OS and apps make little use of quad core and the cpu on the Nexus 4 is heavily throttled anyway because of heat issues.

I love it!

Was it a huge step ahead of the GNex I upgraded from? Other than quad-core, no.

Had I paid the 650$ for it like my GNex I'd be disappointed, but 400$? Absolutely can't complain!

Thats because the screen is not calibrated at all from the factory.

Overall? Yes. The battery could be better and the stock screen calibration sucks though.

Just got my nexus 4 yesterday. Moved up from the gsm nexus. I am with T-Mobile and I'm definitely experiencing signal loss and dropped calls. In an hour of streaming Pandora I've lost all network connection 6x. Only a hand full of calls have lasted more than 5min. Actually right now While typing this I just lost all connectivity to the network.

I had that too, but not as severe as you....sad story...

love mine , battery lasted 3 days before needing charge , of course i believe i am getting a little more adept at using smart phone now and i don't live on it . size takes a little getting used to coming from one of those un-smart ones . still overall price/value a+ for the google nexus 4 .

Wow 3 DAYS!!!! You got a superman phone I will say....I never have any smart phone that last me 3 days...unless I have screen off for 2 days!!!!

I am a happy camper here.
I bought a Gnex back in August and I thought it was such a great phone compared to all the others before. I think it was mainly because of the rapid updates from Google that it just made the Nexus brand much more appealing.
Now, as far as the Nexus 4 goes, I saw a big improvement from the Gnex. The screen alone is much better what the Gnex had. I have zero issues with the colors being washed out. I dont think most people have even noticed that.
Software is top notch as well. The only thing that concerned me when I first got it was the CPU throttling and battery life. I ran CPU Spy for about 3 days and noticed that during my normal regular use, the CPU wasnt being used at the 1.5GHZ range and was set to a minimum 1 GHz. I rooted and now I changed the frequencies to minimum of 384 mhz and max of 1.18 Ghz. No slow downs that I can see and battery life improved as well.

I am very satisfied with the Nexus 4. This phone is faster, more fluid, and better looking than my old Galaxy Nexus LTE. Even better is not having to flash roms just to get updates, love being stock. Even with stock being less customizable, I enjoy not spending hours flashing, backing up, and so on.

I still like mine. It's dependable, I get about the same usage that I used to get on my iPhone 4S and I can do so much more on it then I could on the 4S. I like T-Mobile because for most plans, you get a lot of data to use and don't have to worry about running out. 5GB is a lot.

As for the phone again, it is the fastest phone I have ever used. I get a notification, tap on it and in a second or two the app is open showing me want I want to see.

Not afraid of the glass. Having owned an iPhone for several years, I've never broken a display yet.

I'm from India and had to import the device as i'ts not available officially here. Got it without warranty and trust me, the risk was worth taking. Every phone has issues, it's just that u have to handle this device very gently.

One feature I miss is T9 Dialer. I know there are tons of apps for this but it would've been great if this feature was already inbuilt. :)
Overall : Great device.

A little better today... No dropped calls but still losing complete connection to the network randomly.

Just to update you what I have now. My phone never drop a call even with bad signal. I use GPS too, and never lost a connection. However, I do losing the network connection randomly when I surfing the

web or using app to read news or app that require a network connection. I live in Rockville, Maryland. I have no idea if this fault it's on T-mobile or Google. I talk to both of them, and they blame each other (No surprise here)

I went to T-mobile today in person, and ask the retailer, he said I'm the first one who complain about the bad signal for nexus 4. I feel like I just GOT BS lol. Anyway...

I already request a replacement. I might update this thread if the replacement is better than what I have now. I just want to figure out who cause the bad signal....T-mobile..or the phone..It's just hard to say

I have T-Mo and live in a high signal area according to their coverage map and generally have NO signal. I dealt with T-mo an on my third phone and still have very erratic signal. Sometimes 3 bars, sometimes NONE.. most of the time barely one. Google has been great and I am now on phone #3 with same problem. If anything phone #2 was slightly better than phone #3/. I don't know what to do next other than try one of the MVNO's or AT&T. It is nice phone in all other ways but this sucks when you can't make a call or use data. Data is basically worthless over the air. WiFi works great when it is available.

Overall I'm enjoying the Nexus 4 and the stock Android OS. Its not perfect, the camera quality is decent nothing that great, the battery isn't that great but it has gotten better since I first started using it, WiFi to cellular data has some issues and causes me to reset my phone from time to time but other then these its a great phone. For $299 its the best Android experience I've had so far, coming from a GS3.

Yea, I know the painful feeling...We got a great phone, and it's just because no data, so we can't do anything. I hate the feeling when I was surfing the web, and use the apps reading news, and suddenly

without any data...the feeling sucks...

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. If my replacement have better signal than the current one..I might think it's the phone problem...However, you are on your replacement #3..so..

I don't really know what to say...Rarely heard anything regarding bad signal with nexus 4 user on ATT....

Think I will try AT&T or one of the MVNO's that use AT&T. I have read that tmobile has bad penetration inside buildings and I can vouch for that. T-Mobile has treated me well and they have a decent price so I hate to change but I need a working phone and I don't have one at this point.

[LOS] Frequent signal loss - Nexus 4 Support | T-Mobile

I think this thread address the signal issue. One person got a replacement, and now his phone is perfect. Im pretty convinced it's a hardware issue. If it's the software issue, then all of the nexus 4 user will be affect ( no counting ppl who flash custom rom)

I will see how my replacement go. *Crossing fingers

I'm in the same situation. I have a First batch Nexus 4 (ordered late mid-November, got it a couple days into December), and I just requested a replacement today. There are so many issues with the phone. I have dealt with it for a while, but I couldn't take it any longer. I hope the replacement and the new batches have fixed many of the hardware issues the early Nexus 4s have had.

Just wanna know how you guys deal with the battery drain and poor signal problem.

Do you just ignore it? Or most of you guys RMA it until you get a perfect phone in this case, buzz sound, poor signal, and drain battery

Errr I don't have a buzzing sound, poor signal or battery drain. After a few months of use and android being updated (apps being updated as wel) my battery has gotten much better. Its really good now. After a full day of work I will have more than 50 percent battery life. On my previous phone (G2) I would have like 20 percent and I wouldn't do as much with it.

The only time I have poor signal is due to how my home is constructed and the fact I use solavei which is based off of tmobile service. Certain areas of my home make my signal fluctuate a lot but it is still very usuable even with my signal jumping from 0 to 3 bars. Everywhere else though my signal is 4 or 5 bars (in or out of buildings).

good to heard you have a perfect device! We envy you! Would you kindly provide the screen on time for the battery? I can easily have 50% with screen on time like only an hours. Screen on time is very important when come to battery drain issue. You are on T-mobile, and T-mobile user (like me) have data connection drop, such as suddenly no data connection when surfing the web, You =]?
