AT&T Galaxy SIII 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

In the app drawer, you should have an app titled "Downloads", and circular black icon w/ a green arrow pointing down thru it. I deleted the lists in that app, not in the "My Files" application, and it worked.

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

So I downloaded the file 3 times and each time it failed at 25% INSTALL (w/ the AT&T logo). I contacted AT&T and they said there is a known issue causing it to fail at 25% install and they're working on it. Awesome. Another bug preventing me from installing this update.

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

I checked for the update and the system told me I was On the most up to date software and to check again in 24 hours.

No issues with download. Everything seems to be working fine. Phone actually seems to be running smoother and faster. 2hrs after update, files still downloading though.

Thanks for that...I think I'll give it a week or so and try again, without unrooting/wipe/etc.

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

Has anyone figured out hot to change the text notification sound. Mine is apparently stuck for some reason and will not accept any of the changes I make.

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

What about the lockscreen to camera feature (rotating the device while your finger is on the screen) in previous versions? Its not working for me. Seems they disabled that. :( That was one of the bigger selling point for me with these GS3's.

Go to settings screen. In 4.3 there are tiles across the top, choose "my device". First choice is "Lock Screen" choose that. Make sure slide selector has shortcuts on. Touch the word shortcuts. This will open the screen to set the shortcuts on lock screen.

The shortcuts show on the screen. I was referring to the phone opening the camera with you just rotating the phone with your finger on the screen. I guess choosing the camera icon on the lockscreen would be just as effective. I just liked that previous feature.

You now swipe from the far right edge of the lockscreen to get to the camera. If you swipe from the left edge in, you get a quick launcher called "bezel apps"

Re: AT&T Galaxy S3 4.3 Update Likes/Issues

I had the constant downloads alerts happening as well. The fix was to CLEAR ALL APPS CACHE. Doing that stopped the weird alerts of downloads of apps and things I downloaded a year ago.

Can someone point me to the change log of this update? Thanks! Updating now .=-O

?Sound & Shot? in Camera
?Group Messaging?

Easy Mode 2.0

Did anyone else also lose swipe to unlock feature?

All I see under "Lock Screen" now is just the secured with PIN. I can't select any other options or even disable it. I think it might be due to my work Exchange policy making that be the case but wanted to see if anyone else with or without an Exchange account linked is seeing the same.

I lost multi-window completely, s. Voice useless, some apps have disappeared entirely. Also, takes ages to unlock & wake up. I'm going to see if I can flash it back to 4.1.2 as I need to sell it. Excited to be getting my new Note 3 tomorrow, hopefully without issues.

@roguetrader

You will brick your phone if you try to flash back. The 4.3 update includes Samsung 's KNOX. There is no going back at the moment. Read XDA forums regarding trying to flash back. Very bad results. Try a factory reset & battery pull to see if that straightens out the phones behavior. Not surprised to hear you might have to reload apps after update. Best of luck.

Ok I have a new issue. When on a phone call I get an audible beep every few seconds like I am on a recorded call. I am the only one that can her it I have looked everywhere trying to find out where to turn this off. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me? :)

What is KNOX? Is it an app? Thanks

KNOX is Samsung 's enterprise security app to make their products appealing to corporate entities. They have secured their phone to prevent rooting, unlocking bootloader and installing custom roms. If you have no desire to root your phone, it doesn't matter. If you think you want to root, at this moment, with KNOX installed, you are not able to root. It will probably be figured out eventually.
