AT&T HOX Update!!

I noticed that it seems mucccccch improved. 2-3 apps later, I can restore to the state they were in.

I also noticed a huge performance boost also!

Yes!!

What about 3 mins later or after you put it to sleep for a minute

I drove 45 minutes home, listening to Amazon MP3 with the screen off.. when I got home, I pressed menu and opened TT and it resumed exactly where I left off..

Yeah I guess the multitasking has been improved a bit. I noticed notes goes right back to where I was.

What does "Install Interrupted" mean (see screenshot)? My device was updated yesterday and it is working fine...

Oh-oh... Post update Wi-Fi issue...... Now when I connect at home or work, it says "obtaining IP address" and then "connected" and shows good strength but when I try to open facebook or flipboard, it just "spins". I have rebooted, turned Wi-Fi on & off but it doesn't work. Pre update it worked. Anyone one else have this issue?

Guess sgs3 owners can only talk smack about the lack of sd card slot now lol

All an SD card does is introduce the ability to slow the device down due to the card's inferior read/write speed compared to the storage on the device.

And even then, with cloud based storage, is it REALLY that big of an issue to not have an SD card? I have both the SGIII and the One X and I dont really need the SD card in my SGIII..

Nope. Wi-fi is working just fine on my One X and my girlfriend's One X. In fact, she's been on Wi-Fi all day. (And yes, she has the update. I had her update it yesterday as soon as I even found out about it).

No WiFi issues here. I do notice definitely the transitions from screen to screen are more fluid. But I'm wondering if that's some added animation effect (as someone mentioned) as opposed to performance increase. I'm trying to ignore the increase in speed that I feel like I'm seeing inside my other commonly used apps like FB and Gmail app etc, as being "all in my head" until I hear more comments from others. All in all having the full screen is a damn win IMO. There will always be root methods found that work. Cry me a river on that. I'm happy. Also definite improvement with multitasking. For sure. That one I'm not imagining.

There's definitely a fade animation on the home screens now but it may also just be more fluid. Also I see a fairly big increase in app loading speed.

Where my update? I remember when I used to check for an update it would say there is no update if there was none or that my phone had the lates update. Then it would say I cannot check for updated for 24 hrs. Now it checks for an update and nothing happens I don't get any message and the message box "checking for update" disappears and back to "check for updates". And I can keep trying to check for updates with no messages saying I can't check for another 24 hrs. I tried on WiFi and 4g also tried rebooting and nothing.... My phone is bone stock... Wonder if just did not receive the update yet or if there is an issue? Anyone experiencing this any works around?????

Anybody having a problem with SLOW performance with this update. I must have gotten one of the lucky HOX because i did not have any problems others are experiencing. But with the new AT&T update everytime i hit the "home" button it loads the home screen. Something that never happened before.

ALSO! Did this update fix the white screen flash that happens while texting. Thats the only time i have experience it.

Thanks for any suggestions about the slow performance.

Honestly this has been the most frustrating device I've ever had for doing updates OTA. The way I solve it now is simply by performing a factory reset just prior to doing the update. Guaranteed to work smoothly. I think that helps ensure avoiding the possible brick issues as well. Good luck.

I did my update yesterday. Download and install only took about ten minutes. I haven't had any issues and agree with other comments on the more polished feel to the interface. I also like the menu button options. So far every app, mail, and music has performed flawlessly. It is ashame that some owners have so many problems with this phone.

I still can't get the update...

Am I doing something wrong? I go to Settings>AT&T Software Update>Check for update.

It says checking for new software but I get nothing.

Good idea for those having problems... Save downloaded applications to something like astro, music and pics to cloud services, reset phone and try update.
