My first attempt it said it got interrupted without downloading. Second attempt it downloaded fine and even did the reboot. But when I unlocked my phone, it said install got interrupted. I went to check the version and I'm still at 5.0.1. I tried to check for software update and it claims I have the latest update and I can't check again for 22 and change hours. Even had a countdown counter and everything.

You can try to use Smart Switch to update.

You can also flash the latest update via Odin. You can find a guide in this thread here.

I ended up clearing my cache (had less than the 6 gb that someone mentioned on a forum) and re-enabled the att crap that I didn't want running. One of those things seemed to work.

This is annoying. Steps I took and still getting failed install:

Re-enabled ALL apps
Updated apps
Wiped cache
reset (power and -volume for 7 seconds)
downloaded and install update
FAIL

got my smart phone on monday and my samsung S6 came per loaded with android 5.1.1
