Atrix vs Atrix 2 which would you pick?

I have the OG Atrix. I love it. Would I upgrade to Atrix 2, not at all. There is only a better screen, better (more megapixel) camera, no fingerprint scanner, smaller battery, no true 4G, same processor.

Why bother with this phone. If the OG Atrix is cheaper go with that or wait for Nexus.

A true successor would be Kal-El processor clocked at 1.5 maybe even 2. Fingerprint scanner. I could care less about camera. Better battery or power management. And ice cream sandwich.

Personally next phone for me would be quad-core or nexus.

You're so wrong it isn't even funny. The screen is miles better, the processor is a generation ahead of the Tegra 2 (no, it isn't the same one as the original), which in turn means that this device is going to have much better battery life. Only an idiot would buy the older Atrix with this one coming out at $99.

Good luck with your Kal El. You're going to be waiting until next Summer.

As far as the screen goes on the Atrix 2, yes, it is bigger. But, it has the same pixel count as the OG Atrix' 4" screen, so picture quality will actually go down ever so slightly on the 4.3" screen.

"And the screen has been stretched to 4.3 inches from the original Atrix's 4 inches. While more screen real estate is good, they both have 960x540 pixels, which means pixel density will actually be worse on the new bigger screen."

Aside from that, the differences are negligible. Personally I love the fingerprint scanner, and the camera takes pretty good pics already. I would like to have 1080p video, but soon enough I guess. So I'm staying put. Plus I'm only about 6 months into my contract....

Pixel density will be slightly worse, but perceived resolution will be vastly improved because the new screen isn't Pentile. In other words; people will only notice this screen being sharper, with more accurate colors, not any slight drop in density. (and hands on reviews have bore this out)

For some reason I thought it was a good idea to give Blackberry another go round. I'm taking my Torch back Sunday and picking up the A2. I'm a huge fan of the new Blur (especially since this has the same version as the Bionic). The only thing that might suck is the i4S comes out tomorrow. So, I imagine AT&T stores are gonna be a little nutty all weekend.

All I know is I am happy enough with my OG ATRIX for now. I would really like a new phone and better camera but im making due. If I was looking into getting my first Android then id seriously look at the ATRIX 2.

The cpu is not the same it's a Texas Instrument OMAP(sp?), definitely waiting for the Tegra 4(5) core CPU before I upgrade.

I work for at&t...trust me...A2 is a better choice...and don't worry about the rush...most of the iphone4s are on backorder now so you should be ok

Is the A2 available from AT&T now (or tomorrow?) I got the A1 on 9-21-11 and would like to get the A2 for the larger screen, etc. I think I can upgrade my phone once during the first 30 days, correct?

I contacted my local AT&T branch and informed me that they still don't know when Atrix 2 will be at store.
I'm also planning to upgrade to Atrix 2 so, I'll just drop by the store tomorrow.

Thank you for the information about release of Atrix 2. I googled today, and it seems in some stores Atrix 2 starts appearing a day before Sunday. I'll be dropping by the store tomorrow.

Best Buy has OG Atrix for free with 2 year contract.Also, I thought I saw Atrix 2 only has 8gb of internal memory where OG Atrix has 16gb...is that true? Can anyone confirm?
