Whenever I try and connect my Note 2 to wireless it connects several seconds and disconnects. I have search and tried the Settings>Advanced and tried the 3 alternatives for "Never Sleep" etc. but none of the make a difference and I have restarted. In fact, I had a true keek mobile engineer witha Galaxy 2 try the same procedure on his G2 and his worked fine. I think maybe AT&T's "value added" wireless network finding software might be the culprit. Does anyone know why I can't do something as simple as mu old iPhone could do with wireless net connections all over the world?:(

Yep disable smart wifi. I made the mistake as soon as I got my note as well. Infact I took all the att apps and hid every single one of them

I've been having the same problem of WiFi working okay at home but disconnects after 1-2 seconds on any other WiFi. How do you disable only the AT&T Smart WiFi without disabling all WiFi?

Settings> Applications Manager> ALL.
Then look for ATT WIFI. Click open then click disable

This seems to be an ongoing problem. I had a friend call me tonight and had this same issue. Except that when he first got the phone I purposlly went and hid the app from him so he couldnt turn it on. Seems it may be to turn itself on. I had to walk him through unhiding it and turning it off by phone.

Also, Smart Wifi has nothing to do with Samsungs built in wifi. It has more to do with ATT's 25000 hotspots, such as the ones at starbucks. Disabling smart wifi does nothing but stop ATT's faulty app. You can still go to these same stores and connect their wifi you just hace to do it the same way you connect to your home wifi.

Did your friend just get the update? I installed it 2 days ago and now I see it updated and turned on 4 or 5 apps I had disabled. The nice thing was once I hit "uninstall updates" for each app they were disabled again.

My friend isnt as technologically savvy as myself. He waits for me to figure stuff out and then I make the changes to his phone for him.

I had the opposite reaction. My wifi at my ex's would connect for about 10secs and then I'd have to re enter the passcode, someone told me to use AT&T Smart Wifi and haven't had the problem since???
