OK, sorry, all truly is well. I just had to reset the phone to get my market to update. Thanks DroidXcon. I've rooted, unrooted, and rooted again after receiving the official OTA update from Verizon using your method. Thanks buddy.

Downloaded from the market.

you need to start auto root again from step 2... the newest version is better it wont let a mistake happen

Very welcome :D

yeah i was going to root this morning but wanted to make sure that this auto root would work with the recent OTA I accepted and just want to be on the safe side first..

man my computer sucks--

didn't have ADB, had to install the Android SDK---but first had to install JDE with the JDK--- but then that won't install/run b/c i only have Windows32, not a Windows64 :/

any way around it? any way to get ADB without the JDK?

I did the OTA after I rooted, bad idea. I got stuck in a loop, my phone would boot up, 10 seconds after that it would shut down and try to install the update, the update would fail. I would have to do a battery pull and the loop would start over. To get out of the loop I booted in the rom manager and did a factory wipe/reset. Then all was fine.

Oracle's website use to have the option for 32 or 64... I see they changed it. When I was having problems getting everything needed onto my computer, I used this package which includes everything you need.

sweet! thank you

i tried installing everything i could from that site--every different option but my computer specs were just too crappy. i'll give this link a try and hope it pulls everything i need

I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I did read about the first 20 pages and didn't see anyone else with this issue... I followed the steps outlined, everything appeared to work as described, but when my phone rebooted... no root. All data wiped, but no root. I'm going to try again in case I missed something, but if that fails as well, any suggestions?

Thanks!

maybe you are only going half way through? After you flash the downgrade you need to reconnect and continue

I was still curious, will your one-click method work for people who are stock and that have accepted the newest OTA that came out a few weeks ago...

I am somewhat unfamiliar with ADB shell and am not sure how comfortable I am with it...

There is a new way to unroot. I was at work till 4am last night I was also helping someone who messed up their phone so I didn't get to read up on it to much. You may need to return to stock then use the root app. I would test it myself but I no longer have a Bolt so it makes keeping up to date that much harder . But I'll figure it out unless someone else knows the answer
