thank you for posting this. I just did this to my Thunderbolt and can't wait to play around with the possibilities unlocked by this. I'm coming from the world of WM so to have something like this help out to start hacking my first android device is awesome

Thats great congrats, have fun:)

Rooting as I write this. It rebooted and looked like factory fresh and now Continue Root.

I backed up everything via My Backup. How much effort is it to make sure it was like it was prior to Auto Root?

Thanks!

MyBackup does a nice job at putting everything back to the way it was. Obviously the more you you use it the quicker you become at restoring everything but its a simple app to use.

Thanks but Mail needs to be setup again (grrrrrrrrrrrrrr) and other stuff like Angry Birds settings. :)

It's good. Much thanks! Actually, a clean install not a bad idea. Lil one was ok w/ Birds getting reset. Now it is play time. I noticed the WiFi tether app was removed. Is that really needed since VZW has their own for now? And something about 5/15 is the cut off date?

Yea... The Verizon one has a cut off date... I think it's 5/15, I forget. You can download it for free from the market. Search for "Wireless Tether for Root Users".

do I need to remove the PG05IMG.zip after rooting? I can't get new rom's to load and when I try the volume - pluse power to boot into recovery, it forces me to load the pg05img.zip

I'm running LightningRom and love it... no problems whatsoever. The popular choice around here seems to be Adranalynes Das Bamf Rom.

Hi

How are you liking the battery life with this ROM? I really like the way it looks and am thinking about using it as my everyday ROM. Haven't rooted yet but with the Verizon update dropping I think it's about that time as I'd rather get the update thru a developers ROM.

Battery life is great and its running Adrynalynes Bamf 4.3a kernel. Developer Dhemke17 is very dedicated to the rom and is constantly updating, improving and adding different color themes. The radio update is available on his rom thread.
