I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this toolkit, truly wonderful coding. Worked flawlessly for me and made the rooting process far less scary as I had a witty program telling me to be patient and wait :) Thank you again, amazing work!

That requires you to root, which is why I was confused. The root procedure flashes a custom recovery called clockwork mod recovery. Using clockwork mod you can flash zips in update.zip format like that 4.0.4 zip, by booting into clockwork recovery, selecting 'chose zip from sdcard'>'install zip from sdcard'> then navigating to the zip and selecting yes to flash it.

Thank you! I am happy to hear that! I am hoping to have version 1.4 done by this weekend with even more features! :)

I thought rooting was not required to manually update to 4.04. At least I unlocked the bootloader lol! This is my first time doing it and I was drunk as sh!t xD! I guess I will root my GN in the near future once I get the knowledge I need. Sorry for confusing you tho.

Once again, thanks!! this toolkit is amazing for us newbies

Okay I must be doing something wrong. I installed all the drivers, but when my phone hits the fastboot, phone cannot be recognized. I installed drivers again but same thing. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Disregard the above. Got it to work.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Thanks, Wug, your advice got me to thinking. The last good boot I remembered was right after installing TI Backup and having it do a Dalvik Cache integration so I went back and had it undo the the integration. Bad choice because that stuck me in a boot loop. But at least that apparently means something didn't go quite right with the process and I have a culprit to blame.

So, long story short, the boot loop forced me to do a recovery to the initial CWMod backup I made right after rooting and now I'm able to boot cleanly again. The moral to the story, everyone do your backups. They can be a lifesaver.

Once again, thank you Wug! You do great work and I've learned a lot just from reading this forum!

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

I bought my GNex on December 15th after stalking it since it was announced... Although I had thought about rooting, I really thought it looked pretty complicated and may be a way that i could screw up an otherwise really good phone. After seeing WugFresh had built this toolkit, I watched to see how it developed and thought it was something that I could do with little risk. So finally last night I had some time to play with the phone so I read through this thread and decided to give it a shot. Everything went pretty smooth and I had it unlocked and rooted in short order with no difficulty. Matter of fact, that went so smoothly that i went ahead and researched some roms then couldnt stop just there either, I had to chase down a theme as well to flash over the rom! :) It all went well so today I'm unlocked, rooted, rom'd and themed with AOKP B22 and Hulk Smash! Very cool stuff and special thanks to WugFresh and Cyber Warrior for all of the guidance in this thread.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Do I follow the same instructions for the manual driver install if I am using windows XP or do I have to do something different? The auto install for the drivers failed on every one.

Thanks

Yeah. Manual install is the same. I know, I am removing the auto install for xp in the next release.
