EDIT: Looks like it may be a nation wide data outage. Reports here on Android Centraland over at Crackberry and VZW Community Forums.

Yeah, did some searching, post edited. Downloaded the update over wifi, no complaints so far. Also, network came back up for me in the past few minutes.

Droid X update

Im downloading the update as I type this. It says its Update 2.3.340.en.US.

I installed the update and my phone now says, "The software update was successful. Your phone has been upgraded to 2.3.340.en.US version." I was rooted so it looks like that didnt effect anything. In fact after looking through my apps my Superuser app is still there so it looks like Im still rooted.

good news is that the Madden app is just 92KB, when you click on it it tells you that it requires additional content to run and then asks you to select download.

Got the update over wifi. everything seems better/snappier. Lost root but got it back using z4root. If you dont have z4root(it didnt show up in the market) just search for it on google and get it from XDA which is the first result. So far so good. Thanks Moto!

The updates is ready to download and worth a look, I thought I would update everyone on the status of the recent update 2.3.340.MB810 for Droid X, I couldnt wait for anyones report of the performance fixes, so I took the plung and so far there is a number of noticable diifrances, restarts are extremely faster, web browsing hasnt lagged and responce time over all appears to doing well..

Hears the best part, z4root 1.3 works perfectly still, updated and rooted.... I am all good!!!!


Of course this is a quick look into the software... Hope to hear more positive feedback soon.. If you are wanting to install the update, goto Settings > About Phone > System Updates..... Good Luck.

Got the update, downloaded over wifi. When it reboots to install I get the loading bar and the green man but then after about 1/2 done the picture above the green guy changes to exclamation point inside a triangle and my DX reboots. Once rebooted I get a message saying update failed.

I am rooted. But that's it. No roms or themes or anything like that. Just a plain simple root.

Umm, you've seriously been using the stock player while it was literally inoperable? Use Winamp or Mixzing or something...there's no need to torture yourself.

However, I hope they FINALLY fixed the stock player in this update...that has been one of the most aggrevating things for me. How they release a major update with a stock music player that literally doesn't work is beyond me.

Did you rename or freeze(with Titanium) or delete any of the bloatware? If you did that could be causing the problem. Thats my only guess.

Strange...my superuser was still there but when i opened Titanium Backup it said I did not have root. Got root back using z4root anyway so no big deal.
