Available Now: Droid X 2.3.340 Update Discussion (Not Gingerbread!)

Anyone else seeing that the wifi staying connected issue has not been resolved? Stays connected for the most part on a router broadcasting g only. Still having issues with N only or any combination of a mixed signal. Fail again Moto but thanks for the update anyway.

Hmmm...my phone is saying up to date when it isn't. Anyway to force the update or do I have to just sit tight and wait.

So the update downloaded, got to the green man which stopped progress halfway, then gave me an "update failed" message. I am rooted with z4root, no themes or custom ROMS installed. All frozen apps have been defrosted in Titanium Backup. Unrooted and downloaded again. Same thing fail message upon reboot. Realized that I still had Ad Blocker enabled in DX Overclock. rerooted, disabled Ad Blocker, unrooted, and rebooted. Now when I check for update it says my device is up to date. What the hellz is going on?!

I got the same e-mail, so in anticipation i went ahead and unfroze my apps and unrooted and low and behold i was able to update and re-root. No issues here!

Umm, you've seriously been using the stock player while it was literally inoperable? Use Winamp or Mixzing or something...there's no need to torture yourself.
The music app is not what's the problem, its that there's a known bug that makes the SD card unavailable so music, custom ringtones and my pictures.

My needs are simple and I'm content with the stock music player.

My needs are simple too. Play my music, organized by track order not track name, and maybe show some album art work. Android OS 2.1 failed to play in the correct track order, and Froyo failed to play at all (i could play about 1.5 songs before a hardlock requiring a battery pull). So, I had to find alternates. I would rather use the stock player...

So far I have just completed playing a full album, in the correct order without a battery pull! Kudos to you Moto! It only took you 6 months to get one of the most BASIC functions of a smart phone to work correctly!

Strange...my superuser was still there but when i opened Titanium Backup it said I did not have root. Got root back using z4root anyway so no big deal.

The SuperUser files were still installed, the phone just didn't have access to them.

Check the sticky'd thread for more info about the update.

Go to settings, about phone, and select system updates. It should check for available updates and then notify you about one being available.

This did not work for me at first this morning. I turned on my WiFi and connected to a network and selected system updates again. It was successful doing it this way. I am not sure if that made a difference or not but I have the update and it took about 5 minutes to install after it was downloaded.

I'm not able to yet. Mine still tells me "Your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time."

Where are you located in SO ILL? I'm in Marion and am getting the same thing! I wonder if it's a location thing.
