So what exactly did this update bring to us, because I've seen no changes at all, except that I had to spend 45 minutes re-rooting my phone and I also now have MORE bloatware on my phone.
My Corporate Sync still does not work, 3G still drops, etc. So what did this update do exactly? Was it purely a way for Verizon to load up our phones with more crap?
I flashed the update btw. Didn't actually receive it on my phone.
I'm sure you've seen their laundry lists of changes and fixes, so I won't touch that, but from personal observation, I have confirmed a few improvements so far.
1. They fixed the annoying problem where the text editor jammed special characters, like comma, colon, hyphen, etc. immediately next to the last alpha character. It's a small thing but I'm sure glad to see that one gone.
2. Video playback consistently looks quite a bit smoother to me. Far fewer frame drops that caused jerkiness, especially during pans and zooms.
3. I'm not sure if this existed before, but it is now easy to add a single contact info on the home page. Pretty handy if you want to keep that data quickly accessible for the short or long term.
It will be a few weeks before I'm confident that they have fixed any, some or all of the weird behavior that intermittently shows up on my DX, and sometimes goes away. Until I see some indication that graphics file losses aren't a problem anymore, I'm staying with wireless connects to my PC for syncing. I'm also sticking with the Music Mod app to avoid the erratic problems that the stock Music player was causing.
So far, I haven't seen any negatives, but I haven't tried everything yet.
