Baked Snack Froyo EB13/EC05 "More Undisputed ;)"

Can someone tell me where I can get a link to baked snack 2.3? maybe send me a link? I hear all this stuff about this rom, but cant find it anywhere.

Thanks...

You will have to do a Google search for Baked Snack. We are not currently allowed to post a link to the developers site due to certain requirements not being met.

You're not going to find a link - you need to email Hero about joining his private forum.

Just boot into CWM and flash the 1.28 low kernel.

You can tell by how far you can adjust your max settings in SetCPU or OverClock Widget.

Remember you will have to probably run OneClickRoot again to re establish root.

I thought for BS, MidNIGHT and Bonsai root was in the ROM? I thought only Syndicate based ROMs had the issue where ROOT was in the kernel and therefore require re-rooting after kernel mods?

I got the site, but it only has 1.6 eclair.....I will keep trying to find a link.

Go to the forum to pay $5 to become a private member and you'll have immediate access to all the newest ROMs and kernels. They all become public over time, but if you're a flash junky, paying up once to support future development is the only way to access the newest stuff... his kernels alone are worth this one-time donation in my personal opinion... it rubs some people the wrong way, but to each his own... these guys put in a lot of time so I don't mind supporting for their late night Red Bull funds... my two cents...

Your correct, error on my part for that post I responded to. All this thread hopping to respond to questions I forgot what I was doing.. LOL..

fThanks a lot for your help everyone.

Please advise:
I made a backup then flashed the 128low kernel, and in Setcpu did a self detect and the sliders came up 200-1000, I adjusted the slider to 1280max and no sooner than hitting the back button my fiirst screen slide crashed the phone, and then bootlooped it.. Okay fine.. Restored original tried another kernel that one seemed ok so I ran quadrant and it crashed.. I restored again to original stable at 1.2 low and setcpu to 1000max as before but the phone seemed a bit slower than before and Quadrant was 1400's insted of 1600's.. Maybe even a bit of lag as before there was none..

So went to Senergy 5.0 and the download/flash was fine. Quadrant scores in the 1700-1800 range. Installed Setcpu, as the version in my phone didn't want to run in this version. Did the same settings with Setcpu, self detect and then ran the sliders to 200-1280max. Setcpu stated it won't run in this setting. So I downloaded Voltage Control-Kernel did not match-wouldn't work. Downloaded Overclock widget and again set the sliders at 200-1280max and when I hit set it, it saved new setting, yet the slider reverted back to 200-1000max (not the 1280 setting it said it saved).. Arghh...

Will my phone just not overclock??? Am I doing anything wrong? The new Genocide 1.4OC kernel is compatible with Senergy, but I'm fearing my phone is just jacked. Not really using Quadrant as a tell all, just as reference to how I feel the phone if preforming. Senergy seems to work great with or without an OC app.

I had no issue with BS2.3 original flash and 1.2low set at 1000max.. Just wanted to test the OC'd kernel. I was gettn' greedy I guess.

Help...

Fix---- Reinstalled Setcpu and slid the max bar up and down a few time until in "caught" the settings. Saw a Youtube video that this may have two be tweaked a bit to activate, and sure enough- it worked and held. My device is now OC'd to 1200 max. YES!!!

Genocide also includes root in the kernel. It's been an established standard since DI18 for kernels to be rooted - so we're not doing something strange, the others are ignoring a standard. ;)

Thanks, something I wasn't aware of. Something I never really thought about tell you the truth. I just knew some ROMs had root built in and others didn't and for those that didn't you would have to use a kernel with root or run the OneClickRoot again to re establish root.

Im new to ROMs. Does Bake Snack work on EC05?

Yes.

Edit: Just incase you look at your "About Phone" section it will still say your running EC05 because of the EC05 modem, but technically you will be running EB13 because that is what Baked Snack is based on. It won't affect your setup. If you go and then flash a EC05 based ROM like Syndicate or Bonsai/midNIGHT everything will still be okay. Its all "Froyo" no matter how you look at it.

One thing I've noticed using the BS ROM is that I end up getting text messages after voicemails similar to what was happening on TER. Is there any reason why the fix found here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...1-5-ac-no-planned-eb13-update.html#post593677 wouldn't work? Alternatively, is there a newer way to fix this?

Thanks

Edit: was just looking through the thread for a different post, and found another person who noticed this that I didn't remember reading. sorry for the double post.

Hero needs to add a few tweaks in like this one, I think its involved with the call log mod about getting texts from voice mails. I'm sure if its mentioned/suggested on his forum he will incorporate it into his next update.

Nope - the call log mod is the same as used in SRF (the likely source) and Bonsai/midNIGHT. 9016 text messages on a stock-based ROM come from APKs being removed that shouldn't be.

So I've looked around long enough, it seems like Baked Snack 2.3 is the best ROM for the Epic4g in terms of battery life.

I almost got rid of my Epic 4G phone, but once I heard people say their Epics have been lasting over a day with it, I figured I should try it.

The ROM is good, but the kernel is what gives it the great battery life ;)

Right, that's what I meant. Which Kernel would you recommend for best battery life?
If you become a member of Baked Snack, you will have his kernels to choose from that came with Baked Snack v2.2 and v2.3. Out of those kernels the "1.2 low" is a remarkable kernel.. Great battery life.

Otherwise Twilight Zone is a excellent kernel too (that is what I'm using now). Vision and Genocide are great in their own ways too.. Its more a trial and error thing, some kernels and their setups perform differently on individual devices. My device may not handle things the same as yours so its a trial and error process.

I've been using BS 2.1 for about a month and I keep having FC issues that I cannot resolve. things like email, handcent, and even the camera app close instantly upon launch. I have tried fixing permissions in cwm to no avail, so I tried clearing the data of these apps. This also did not work. The only thing I can do is reflash BS, but this only temporarily fixes the problem and the FC issue comes back after a while. Its very annoying having to reflash my phone every week, just so it can function properly. Has anyone had this problem?
