Battery Drain Fixed by Samsung!!!

There was a recent report that Samsung expects to sell 40% more units than the 50 million forecasted by analysts. Some beating. That's nearly 70 million for those of you doing the math at home.

What carrier? What adjustments? Looks pretty good.
T-mobile, i had wifi of while screen is off not sure if that made the difference, i usually have about a little more than half of that, and it is good battery life it's just i didn't expect getting a less from the update but also im not sure if its from the setting i changed.

Sent from my S6 Edge

Please provide a link? Show me one credible source that says people are returning and samsung is taking a beating? Im not returning mine. What 50 people on the forum? Is this what your referring too. Cant just make stuff up man.

Here is some pics. Phone basically at idle with minimal use. WIfi on. Battery % loss similar to what I've been seeing with my S5.

You guys are right, should have been more clear. There aren't numbers yet but there is a definite buzz about the battery life. I'd think Samsung would be working with Google on this so it doesn't become the big drawback on the phone considering the early skepticism on the small battery.

Google search android lollipop and every single article references the bugs especially the battery drain bug. I don't understand why some of you are getting so **** hurt about the reality of a genuine issue

We get the Lollipop issue. Millions have already purchased the device. It's still a vocally small fraction not to diminish their concerns which are unfortunate. If the beating were as bad as you making it out to be, publish the links to the sources and we will see. Would use my favorite Woody Harrelson quote but this a family oriented forum or at least it should be so that kids can see what an adult conversation happens.

Sorry but I'm not naive. If just about every single article blog or post about lollipop or android or new android devices references bugs then there must certainly be a pretty large vocal outcry. Yall do know this isn't the only android forum right?

Yes. The only problem here is that a couple of people feel the need to comment on almost every single post on the s6 forum. That's fine but clearly they don't have a clue and that in turn has muddied quite a few topics. One guy in particular comments random non contributing posts comstantly.....it's against the rules to call him out but I'm pretty sure most of us know who it is.

This is getting way off topic with your condescending comment. Of course, there are multiple forums which I also to look at. There is still a vocal minority of those that won't stop ranting across multiple threads and forums. There is a likely issue related to Play Services that will likely resolve a lot of issues other than carrier related ones. One more time, where are the links and citations. I know facts and effort are a burden but we would all benefit from seeing actual articles and making decisions for ourselves.

Completely off topic...jcp007, I love your avitar! Forged right, I love their stuff.
Anyway, I had my S6 replaced yesterday and the new one seems to have much better battery life. It says its at 74% and approximately 1 day 13 hours left.

I'm a novice to the more technical aspects of tracking battery life although I'm learning from everyone here
I got my galaxy yesterday (coming from an HTC One and with a phone call and some Web browsing , I've noticed that it comes down to 95% at the 30-35 minute point. That doesn't seem terrible so far. I'm giving it the trial period but I do love the phone so far!

You know people will defend there purchase to the end. The more you bring up bugs and problems the worst they react to your comments. All I'm saying is why do I need to tweak and make compromises to get acceptable performance/battery life right out the box with these flagship phones? People will argue me down that it is necessary with android to do this and I ask again why should I have to do this in 2015?
2015 and Google has not learned what it takes to make an efficient OS that does not require tweaking right out the box. 2015 and Samsung makes all the components for their own phones and yet cannot optimize there own drivers and code base they add to android for their own phones. I had the S6 edge 128GB and yet I took it back because of a battery drain that even happens on standby.
2015 and the cure is to compromise my user experience by disabling features, settings, and apps themselves. 2015 and I have to compromise what makes a smartphone a smartphone because it just that awesome of a phone. 2015 folks and this is not how I will do business anymore with my purchases. I will not make compromises, I won't wait for the next update to solve the problem, and I won't tweak a phone to death anymore.
For how much these devices cost now there should be no compromise. I would hope more people would do themselves justice and not compromise. But you have so many willing to put up with them just to have the next uber device and that in itself is a shame. Yeahhhhh I might have to stay with an older device until I find something better, but I will keep my principles and not compromise my user experience for a devices shortcomings.

I get what you're saying, but I'm a little confused.... What year is it? :-P

On a serious note, your frustrations are absolutely warranted. However, I think you could have shortened that post down to a few sentences and still have gotten your point across.

Something will be done about this issue though. Samsung/Google have acknowledged it and I believe they're working on a fix. I, for one, will be patient and try to enjoy this amazing device for what it currently is, and wait for it to just get better.

Don't think this push service does anything to improve cell stand by. Yesterday night forgot to switch off WiFi and the damn cell stand by just ate off the battery like crazy. Most of the time keep WiFi off and that takes care of cell stand by.

This. Over and over again.

It's the vocal minority thing again. Always hilarious.

How do you know who's the minority?
You keep saying that.
You're here in these forums too.
That makes you that same minority of users.
The biggest majority of people buying this phone aren't going to assume it's Google's fault. They're going to blame their new Samsung S6.

So don't compromise. I refuse to. Here are my results with everything turned on. Even some things that were off by default I turned on. VoLTE on, location services enabled, always scanning for other wifi service turned on, and so on, and so on. I'm on AT&T btw so I don't have the T-Mobile issue with wifi calling (this is a T-Mobile issue and only T-Mobile can fix it, this is not Samsung's fault)
If you happen to be on T-Mobile, then your beef about battery life is with T-Mobile, NOT Samsung.
