Battery Life EB01

If I turn off the GPS, when I later turn it on and try to use it it is unable to accurately place my location.

Ive also noticed diminished battery life on eb01, dl30 I could go to work all day 12 hours and still have 80% when I got off at 7pm. Was quite impressed I'm going back to dl30 I think. I unplugged my phone around 7am this morning down to 80% already with minimal to no use. But then again I'm a newb and probably need to adjust something who knows...

I was having problems with battery life when I first installed too but I was able to fix that by doing the following:

Charge the battery to full.
Turn the phone off while still plugged in.
Unplug and restart the phone into CWM.
Go to advanced and wipe battery status.
Reboot and do not plug your phone into USB or any other source of power until the phone dies from low battery. You want the battery to the point that the phone will not even boot.
Now charge the phone over night.

I highly recommend trying this method. I have a significant improvement in battery life now.

I will give this a try...but I'm not very optimistic...I'm down 20% in an hour. That's right...TWENTY percent. Ridiculous.

And I have actually done a wipe, gone all the way back to DI01, and a fresh reinstall.

Something about froyo and my phone isn't playing nice!

I'd say we need a widget list, what apps you use a lot, and what's in your battery usage under settings> about phone. Do you use a task killer? Are your wifi bluetooth and gps on all the time? Dl30 or eb01?

After a full day and today is the second, my battery has stabilized. I am 10 hours in at 67% left. My screen is still chewing up 70+% of my usage and I'm on automatic adjustment for brightness. Before E01, it was my standby and cell that used the most.

I am only using the bookmarks widget, no task killers...I used to keep wifi and gps on all the time prior to froyo so have been keeping them on. I did set up wifi to turn off when screen turns off.

Battery stats:
67% (one hour 30 minutes)
Display 76% (58 minutes on)hmmm....didn't seem like that long.
Slacker radio 6% (11 minutes)
Android os 5% (9 min 58 seconds)
Android system 3% (6 min 40 seconds)
Android core apps 2% (3 min 40 seconds)
Sensorserver_ya 2% (3 min 35 seconds)

I can't seem to get to the advance area in cwm to reset the battery. When I hit the home key on the update.zip tab it just gives me a screen with the triangle and the droid on it. Am I missing something?

Yep. there is a problem with your updae.zip file. Welcome back by the way Jmac. Refresh my memory. Which method did you use to get to EB01?

Ok, if I'm thinking correctly you just need to download the update.zip again and put it on your sd card here is the link:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

I know other people have had this problem and have been helped by DroidXcon and other experts. It will just take me a little bit to find the posts with the answers. But as long as everything went ok with your original upgrade to EB01, replacing update.zip should get you there.

please delete all traces of old update.zip on your sd card and your computer,,,,then download and replace it on your sd card

There you go, the expert caught up with my slow butt. I was on the right track, just didn't know it for sure.

Guess I shouldn't try to download ringtones, browse the forums, and text with a buddy trying to plan a Mexico trip all at the same time :)

the problem is that old update.zip files are on the cards or folders and people forget they are there and then when they download the new one , the new ones are automatically renamed since you cant have 2 files by the same name and then you end up moving the wrong update.zip

Gotcha. So people who were previously rooted are the only ones running into this problem. People who never rooted and are coming from stock don't run into this hiccup.

yeah mostly , so if you flashed via odin and put that file on your SD card there is no reason it shouldnt go directly into clockwork

Every time I try to get into recovery mode, i get the blue screen, then have to apply update.zip and then I am in red. But like I said, I have to do this every time. Is it because I never deleted the old file and just tried to copy a new one over it?
