Voodoo has absolutely nothing to do with battery life, it simply changes the file system on two partitions. It's like saying a notebook with a hard drive formatted with NTFS will have better battery life than the same one formatted with Fat32. The two things just aren't related.
Now comparing DL30/EB01 Voodoo kernels to older DJ05/DL09 or previous kernels, you might see a distinct difference in battery life, but that's because many of the older kernels were undervolted and the current ones are not (and can not be until source is released).
But yea, Voodoo and battery life are totally unrelated.
