Battery Life on my Z Fold 3.

I guess my camera standards are low but I'm more than happy with the ZF3's cameras. I guess I'm just not looking for DSLR quality from my phones or looking to shoot in the darkness of night but I must be the odd one out.

I'm happy with these.

Am not looking at DSLR quality either. Just expecting to be better than my note 10+ since am upgrading from it.

In all honesty, as long as it looks good online when I share and post (yeah, I know post processing makes pics more web friendly), I am happy. I am NOT, but any means, a Pro Photographer, nor do I play one on T.V., I am just someone that likes to capture memories and important events and have no interest in professionally publishing my pics.

Saying all that, as long as it looks good and you get the idea, I'm happy. These people that dig deep and get into the "nuts and bolts" of pictures taken and complain at the pixel level, I don't even bother with their reviews, way too in-depth for what I need as a regular person. :)

I think the cameras on 10+ and F3 are almost identical. If you came from Note 20+, that's just another whole new level of camera in comparison. I say this is because I've owned both 10 and 20, trade up 10 for F3, kept 20U and gave to my wife. And I do missed the camera on 20U.

Over time, software upgrade will improve F3, I'm not overly concern.

Agreed. I do think the Note 10+ takes better than ZF3. The ZF3 software seems to intrude a bit and soften photo quality.

It's not a big difference in quality and completely agree a software update in the future could provide some improvement.

I had my first real test of the camera today when I took a bunch of pictures (about 30) and a few 30 second videos, and answered about 3 e-mails - and I did so while listening to Spotify (downloaded songs, so not streaming), and to be honest - it was kinda a big fail. In 4 hours I was down to 25% battery. Not thrilled with the battery life and even if I don't always stress it like this - I actually don't think it was a big stress at all... 30 or so pics in bright sunlight and a few videos and e-mails and listening to downloaded music? I had a battery pack with me because I suspected I would need to recharge, but I didn't think I would need to recharge too quickly. Sigh - and I only had the phone unfolded for the e-mails. Everything else was with the phone folded.

Maybe I have too many apps installed and have things running in the background, but I don't see anything unusual in the Device Care section nor on my SystemPanel app monitoring.

Screen On time is meaningless without knowing what your phone is doing when the screen in on. Playing videos and looking at websites are actually not very battery intensive at all.

I don't think your story is that unique. As much as I love this phone the battery life is a sore point. It is better than the Flip³ I bet though. ...and to make it worse (for me anyways) with the iPhone 13 Pro Max out there I know there's a stellar device out there that likely slaughters the F³'s battery life. Don't look at me weird, I'm not the only one there that thought it.... But the F³ is great, unconventionally useful, and never boring. So, the battery life compromise is something I hope I can learn to live with. Further, I have multiple devices and another F³ to help mitigate the wear on this F³'s battery (from the extra charging I anticipate the F³ will likely require).

In the last 40 minutes I've watched this F³'s battery drop from 85% to 73% and all I'm doing is typing this and listening to iTunes with Power Saving Mode active with 60hz refresh. I had an F² last year but after a month decided not to live with the compromises (including the sticky screen). I want to love this phone completely and enjoy it unreservedly but the battery life is a challenge to overlook (along with the fact that I still baby it more than my other phones).

TLDR: The battery life is definitely a compromise. Is it one I can ultimately live with? I hope so.

I totally agree with you and that is how I view my photos. I don't care about pixels or specific camera specs. I just look at real-world examples and see if I'd like that for myself. Good analogy!

This is the question that I am dealing with. I still have my Note 20U but I am sticking it out with this ZF3 because of the things I like about it and I want to see it being my daily driver. For now, it still is - but the battery drain I experienced using the camera for what I don't really consider to be heavy use was startling. Maybe the phone is still learning? I am keeping a close eye to this but so far, my battery life on ZF3 is trumped by the N20U.

I'm trying to pinpoint what may be causing this... I charged my phone to 100% at midnight last night. I unplugged it, and did not use it. This morning it was already at 80% with non use. Typically on my N20U it would still be int he 90s. I reinstalled Accubattery (I really do not like this app) just to see if it can clue me in on what may be using the most battery because my System Panel app is not giving me anything helpful. Fingers crossed I'll figure it out and what I'm experiencing now is an aberration.

Otherwise, I'll have to consider carrying a battery pack with me. O.o

I was wondering does your device care still showing <12 hours on expected full charge will last about information?

I still cannot get thru 12 hours standby time
Here is where I am at now.... But I charge on workdays while at my desk. Soooo

I came from the s21 and for some reason I find the z fold 3 to take better pictures than my s21. My S21 had trouble focusing on subjects. 4k 60 video would stutter but the z fold 3 has been working much better and takes better photos on all 3 lenses.

Same experience after Note 20 Ultra, minus zoom of course.

I definitely see a massive increase now that I finally got the September update. Easily added 1-2 hours of screen-on-time to mine. Used to get 5ish hours, now it's a solid 6 to 6 1/2, which is fantastic

I think that about matches my experience. I'm quite pleased.

Today was my first day with my Fold3 and, though I used it a lot for setup and tests, for now I just can say the battery life is poor. Very poor! I really hope it’ll improve a lot in the next few days, or it’ll become unusable for me, nothing less than this.

As I mentioned in my other reply it will optimise over the span of a week.

Things will improve and it wouldn't harm to consider options such as sleep and deep sleep apps options.

My battery life has gotten decent (not iPhone 12 Pro Max good... but decent). I keep Power Saver on (and therefore, run at 60hz). I don't feel like I'm missing anything and 60hz vs 120hz is not even close to be worth sacrificing any battery life for me. I use Protect Battery so the phone only ever charges up to 85%. Just for grins I may try a day without Power Saver and see what it's like.

Most certainly have to let that battery settle in... A week at least to see it improve... I have adaptive battery on but I don't like using power saving... I've also recently turned off fingerprint always on in biometrics testing it...

These are good choice if you plan on keeping your phone longer than 2 or 3 years. I know I only kept them only a year or so then trade up for new tech. So, I'm enjoying the full potential of the device and not locking it down. You pay alot for it so enjoy it.
