Battery Life on Nexus 4 after 4.3 update?

My Nexus 4 has a battery of average of 2:55. That's with surfing, everything pretty much turned off (ie no apps), and the screen on auto.

This cannot possibly be normal or acceptable! I generally find it's discharging at around 1% every 2 minutes or so...

I've only had it two months and I love it, but the battery life I loathe.

Battery was fine before, after the recent 4.3 update my phone runs hot and I was only on battery for ~2 hours but using the phone constantly to text and a little browsing and it went from 100% to 25%. Ridiculously worse than before.. I turned off google now voice thing, what else is there to prevent the battery drain?

In response to my previous post AMD how Location Reporting in Maps gives me crazy wake locks, I've recently tried turning it back on to see what happens. The wake locks are back to 4.3 - that is its not keeping my phone awake all the time. Weird.

I have just moved to a new house and the mobile signal sucks..........................and so does my battery life now, think my phone is constantly hunting for signal thus draining the battery quicker.

I am too experiencing horrible HORRIBLE battery drain issue... i've tried every known method on the interwebs...

would like to also point out, this was on pure idle, over night from 100%. using pure stock android not rooted

your attachments are not visible.
usually, persistent wakelocks are from location access.
try disabling location access to see if it helps.

I found that keeping the home screen free of clutter improves battery life. That mean's no to widgets and numerous icons. I've got the default android clock on my home screen, and that's it.

10 hours with 2 hours screen time. 45 minutes Google Music. Will try to post picture tomorrow somehow.

What's the point of having a smartphone if you disable all it's feature's?

You might as well buy a old nokia.

I have everything enabled except gps and use widgets and manage to squeeze out between 4 and 5 hours of screen out time depending on my location. At home my network signal is really bad.

My screen is killing my battery life. The brightness is on automatic or half strength. Is the phone broken, it has never been this bad? View attachment 79984View attachment 79985View attachment 79986
Your attachments are not showing but your screen percentage will always be the highest if you are using your phone. It takes the percentage compared to everything else so the screen is on for everything you do which will yield a higher percent. If you do not turn your screen on the percentage will start to drop. Maybe you have never used your phone that much. The N4 is kind of addicting. lol

You missed the most important screen shot and that is your on screen time. You need to click on the screen and see how long the actual screen was on in that time. People have been averaging 3-4 hours of on screen time it seems. If your on screen time matches that then you are running pretty normal.

From the pics you posted though everything looks to be running fine.

I just got the N4 and immediately updated to 4.3, so I can't compare. I have found the battery life pretty good though, and seems to be improving as the battery breaks in.
