Battery Life Sucks... Literally

Just wanted to chime in...I came from a Galaxy Nexus and the S3 is so much better in battery life(and everything else). After about 2 hours off of charge, I'm at 79%, however my screen has been at it's highest level(as I'm home and can charge whenever I want). I notice my wifi is constantly working and I'm not sure why. I did just turn off GPS as I forgot I left it on and Google Maps used 13% so that goes hand in hand I'm sure.

Oh Ok... Hell with my Maxx and especially my GS3, I want yours..
Bravo I am happy for you, especially with everything you put your GS3 through in one day and still get 16+ hrs.
Not being sarcastic either, I swear.

What I consider heavy usage might be light/moderate for others

Did 84 hours on one charge with stock battery .... 4G, GPS, Go Laucher & note in saver mode :) Didn't use it a lot, but I didn't not use it either :) In the beginning I had a 3d Flip clock with weather that sucked my battery in less than a day ...... I still have a 3D flip clock, but it's not the Go 3D flip clock. If I have heavy use, I can get 2 days & really heavy would give me a day & a half :)

do a factory data reset & clear the cache in the recovery mode. When i got the phone the battery really sucked, i almost took it back. Did some search & found this method & the battery improved by a milestone.

How do you go about wiping the cache? On the SGS3?

Power off. Volume up, home button and power at same time.Go into Recovery then you will have a list. Scroll to wipe partition cache..

I am using the stock battery. I don't have power saver turned on. I need to try that feature.

Before it actually died I was close to 5 hours of screen time.

With the phone off it should be hold down volume up + home button + power until recovery pops up.

Wow... Yeah I can only manage that much when I don't use the phone so much.

With Juice Defender installed...I'm getting a couple of extra hours out of mine...about 10 total....It's hard to put the phone down, I ain't gonna lie. I've already ordered some quick charge packs that plug directly into the miniUSB port. 3 - 1000mAh for $15 off eBay. I've never used them before, but I'll report back how good/bad they work.

So all of a sudden my battery has started to drain like crazy for the last two weeks that I had the phone no issues what so ever. I would work and use the phone all day and come home with 40%. Now I can physically see it draining.... I cannot get the GPS to turn off, I have reset and did a battery pull but it keeps coming back and you can see that I have it turned off.... HELP HELP!!!!!!! 88% and I have only been up for 30 minutes today...

I was really worried about battery life coming from my iPhone4s. I had a Droid Charge last year and the battery life was horrible. I love the screen size and customization of the GS3/Android, which is what brought be back. I must say though, that I am pleasantly surprised ath the battery life. Mine is almost 9 hours off charger and at 60% with moderate use today. I surfed the web for about 30 - 45 minutes at lunch, emails, several calls, other light surfing.

I would try the reset and clearing the cache. If you are not in a fringe area and that doesn't work I would exchange it for a properly working one. Good Luck!

This is good to read because I have a 4S now and will be picking up an S3 on tomorrow!
