Battery Life Thread

Just put everybody's data into excel ... will separate it by wifi Y/N when I get a chance. I extrapolated everyone's data out to a full charge, so the numbers below are from 100% to 0% charge. Lots of scatter in the data for sure, which is somewhat expected.

Average time off charger: 23.38 hours
Average Screen On Time: 5.73 hours

Eliminating the high and low outliers changed this to:
Average time off charger: 23.88 hours
Average Screen On Time: 5.31 hours

Please keep that up adrialk, That's a huge help to put everything into perspective!

coming from an S3 with a smaller screen and processor....I am extremely satisfied. I use my phone moderately/high usage from 8am to 7:30pm. Usually on my S3...

S3: 730pm ~25-30%
LG G2: 730pm ~60-65%

this is just a rough estimate. nevertheless its a big improvement if someone is upgrading from a last year high end phone S3 2012. Both ATT.

And then this happens. My phone says that maps took up most of the power but I never opened it. And it says gps was running for 2hrs and 40 minutes. Never turned it on. uploadfromtaptalk1379341359755.jpg

Battery level at 11%
Off charger 13 hrs and 23 min.
Screen on 6 hrs and 35 min
On wifi mostly but also a little 4G. Screen brightness from 40% to 80% depending on what I was doing.

For my first real charge of the phone I had 4h 51m screen on time with 50% brightness. Wound up charging it with 9% left and 53 hours of total use on the charge. I did a lot of benchmarking not sure how much worse that is than watching videos. Probably similar to playing intensive games.

Yeah I don't know about the battery life of this phone.
I took it off the charger at 6:30 am this morning (it is now 3:35pm). All I've done on it was open maps for a few seconds when I left my house, to see how backed up the highway was. And then I chatted on it for about half an hour via hangouts. It stayed at 100% for an extremely long time, which tells me that the battery meter is very inaccurate. Then once it finally dropped from 100, it dropped like a rock. I've made no calls, watched no videos, I have literally not done ANYTHING but use maps for a few seconds and then chat during my lunch hour. Wifi is off, BT is off, GPS is off, location services disabled. And the phone is now at 78% with screen of 39m23 seconds, and I have had the brightness set to a measly 19%. Pathetic. I think this will be going back before the 14 day return period. btw this is an AT&T Model

Wow 9 hours killed 22% of your battery! Yeah that sucks LOL.

This is worse battery life for the EXACT same usage than my GSM galaxy nexus with an OEM 2000 mah battery got. I would at least hit 58 or so minutes before it was at 75%.

Good luck finding better battery life short of the Maxx. Everyone here raves about battery life, so do you think something may be up?

You have been on LTE for 9 hours, of course screen time always has a lot to do with it but when your talking about 9 hours of use I don't think 30 mins of screen time would make much of a difference.

I know that this is LTE and that was 3G only, but there's a 1000 MAH difference and this is supposed to be a much more efficient processor/screen combination. So I gotta say, with that in mind, I'm disappointed.

You do realize that at the rate you used your phone in 9 hours and the rate the battery drained you are looking at almost 45 hours on battery before it dies! If that is not good enough than fine get something else that makes you happy.

Probably the Droid Maxx of wait for the Note 3.

I'm currently traveling so I have airplane mode on, and wifi on for the majority of the day in the hotel and office.

Time off charger: 23 hrs 35 mins
estimated time remaining: 6 hrs 34 mins
47% left

screen: 2 hrs 47 mins

normally i would charge it now, but not sure what is best for the battery. let it run lower? or just top it off to 100% now?

First time android user, came from an iPhone 4S.

Initially read the amazing reviews for the G2 and I was surprised with the initial few days of sub-par battery life. I purchased it release day last week on Friday.

First few cycles I was averaging 8-10 hours of on-battery time, with 2-3 hours of screen time. One night i left the phone unplugged and it drained from 84%-40% over 8 hours.

Today has been the best battery life thus far with 22 hours of usage on battery, 3.5 hours of screen time on with 30% remaining (Phone was unplugged around 7PM last night with over an hour of GPS, Pandora usage, 8 hours standby overnight, and a few hours of usage throughout the day today)

Will continue testing, but it seemed like it took 4-5 cycles for it to normalize.

Verizon, good signal every time I checked
off charger just under 24 hrs
screen on 2 hrs (45 min on wifi, 1:15 not) mostly web surfing and a few texts and emails
auto/50%
total time on wifi 9.5 hrs
streamed google music for 2hrs not on wifi, plus pinned and downloaded 11 albums on wifi
didn't make any phone calls
68% remaining
very happy

Who said battery life is not good on this phone? :D
