Battery Life Thread

Regular pixel 2
Bluetooth on, location services on battery saver mode, aod on tap or lift on, mostly WiFi usage today,

I've had my phone since the 23rd. I've been up since 4am.I've been streaming music, playing games, and using Waze for my drives.

I haven't plugged it in at all since 4am.

At 7:10 pm I'm still at 9% battery life. Not too bad in my opinion. I don't use any of the battery optimization either.

Off the charger around 7:30 this morning. Very busy day with calls, texts, emails and some web browsing. Drove up to the lake where signal is spotty. This phone is awesome for battery life! Far better than my OG Pixel. AOD is on, location services are on, no battery saving mode. Definite keeper!

Ahh.. I can't turn it off because I'm using Google fit
I'm using Google Fit too but just to track step count currently. So I've disabled high accuracy location mode within the app settings. It keeps nagging me to turn it back on though!

This is what I ended up with at the end of the day.

Seeing that type of battery life makes me want to pay for my XL order with Verizon. I've got the regular Pixel coming on Monday. I have a Panda XL 128gb on order with Verizon. I just need to pay for taxes and upgrade fee.

Got my 2xl phone on Friday at 80%. Didn't use it that much on friday, and turned it off and on a few times that day and today(until I finally put a sim card and replaced my nokia lumia 1020 at 7pm at my carrier store) I haven't charged my phone at all

But anyway its currently at 25% battery, with 5h screen time. Adaptive brightness on, bluetooth and NFC off, sleep after 30 seconds of activity, and my brightness level was ranging from 50% to 33%. Ambient display is on also. Majority of screen time went into the launcher, and then google chrome, contacts, and wall paper. I used like 20 different apps. Not bad.

it ****s over my 4 year old lumia which now dies after like 1.5 to 2 hours of screen time from 100% to 0% battery life

how many of you guys don't fully charge your batteries? I heard its better for the battery life to do frequent charges and have it never die or go 100%. At the same time, if you don't do a full charge, it doesn't reset the "screen use since full charge" which is annoying. It should be since "last charge."

Other than that.. The phone charging for the phone is ******* scary fast. I'm used to 3 hour charges from 0 to 100. I feel like I went from 20 to 80% in an hour(or less). But dropped off fast soon after(at least from 80 to 60%.)

That's the problem with these threads.

Look at this amazing number!!!

The last two charges have been really good for me. I've been lasting about 2 days(45-48 hours) with 5.5-6 hours of on screen time and draining about 80-90% battery each time!

Its been 9 days and im consistently getting 5-6 hours of sot moderate use and 4.5 hours of heavy use.

One thing ive noticed when using other charging adapters (slow charging) is i get like 15 more minutes of sot. Im not sure if its just a placebo effect but i feel that it last longer with slow charging.

Great battery life here. I'm a power user and since I've had it it's gotten me through the end of the night every time.

At the end of the day during the 2 weeks with the phone I have never gone below 50% by the end of the night. And I am fiddling with it more than normal setting things up and testing things out. I don't watch movies or play video games on it.

Mostly during and average day text, make a phone call or two, check for important emails, and listen to music or ebooks. Our Amazon fire remote went missing somewhere in the sofa a few days ago and have been using the Fire remote app with my phone which would drain the battery fast on last phone but really doesn't affect much on this phone much that I can tell.

The only time I really would push it would be playing music and GPS while driving a long distance but when I do that the phone is plugged in.

One thing, this phone sure limits battery use when not in use. I unplugged my pixel over an hour and a half ago and put it on my desk and have not used it since. Just checked it, says 100% battery. Previous phones I have had would have been at least at 95% - 90% by now.

My old phone battery was getting worn out and the last few months I would often get a surprise low battery warning around 8 or 9 PM.

Which concerns me about this phone. This is my first phone with a built in battery. After a year plus I can't just pop in a fresh battery and start getting great battery life again.
