I have had my G6 a week now and it has (so far) the strongest battery life of any Android I have owned, and I don't get it? None of the reviews have raved about battery life, in-fact the consensus seems to be that it is comparable with the Samsung S8+ et-al. Over the last 2-3 years in addition to iPhones I have owned, an S6 edge+, BB Priv, 3 S7 edges and now an S8+ and without doubt for my use the G6 has noticeably the best battery life. I always set up my phones for good battery, disable background data, disable apps etc.

Maybe this comes down to my use and that if you put the G6 on a video loop test it would probably be no better than the rest but for normal every day use it is IMO a step up from my S8+. Specifically in addition to normal use it seems to be far better when doing nothing i.e on standby. My IP7+ set itself apart from any android in it's standby performance, I have often left it unused on my desk at work when in meetings and it has barely dropped at all even after 4 or 5 hours, the G6 seems to share this trait which is a big surprise.

Always thought the iPhone advantage was due to the hardware/software optimisation but maybe it's also due to LCD vs OLED or other factors too. If so will be interesting to see how the OLED iP8 does

It's probably because the battery life the G6 gets is 'expected' at this point. It's good, but nothing great. And other phones, even in older models, have shown that putting a larger battery on a phone is possible.

I honestly feel the battery is noticeably less than the S8+. I'm a power user and I have never gotten above 4 hours SoT. it's mostly 3 and a half to four hours. On my S8+ I could easily get five, five and a half. I will say that with quick charge, it doesn't really bother me. But I do think the S8+ is superb in battery life.

Agree. I have found the battery life to be excellent in my week or so of use. And, I am using all the bells ans whistles. All in all, i thinl its a great phone and I came from a Note 7.

I think fast charging diminishes battery life. My V20 seemed to last longer in the beginning.

Until there is a drastic change in battery life as a whole, I'll never expect to get a full day based on my usage. I always will either use a 1 hour fast charge or just trickle wireless charge it on days I'm at my desk.

Have you tried to uninstall quick memo?

Yes.. I've gotten crazy life with this thing and some days i got ok life.. this hardware utilizes the size of the battery well

I've had pretty good battery life with my G6. I still think one of the best batteries i've used was in the Iphone 7+!

The 7+ is still better for sure, it's interesting that others have different experiences, it no doubt comes down to how it is used, I am not a power user for example.

I have touched...6hrs plus on my G6 and to that i have dual sims cards active...and i have 64gb version..i say battery life is better than my S7 edge...
Soo far G6 is one of the best andriod phone and battery life

Same here, I get better battery life with the S8+ and still average around 150-200% of battery usage a day. That's why I love phone with removable batteries but the phone with better battery life with removable battery that I've had was the V20 and could go through 3 batteries in a day. Anyway for S8+ and G6 trickle wireless charging or an hour of fast charge do the trick most of the days but if I'm outside all day I am screwed lol

To be honest .. when I had my G6 I never had an issue with the battery. I thought LG did just fine when it came to that.

It's great that the G6 has good battery life. I too haven't heard any review particularly raving about its performance, but it's good to know that it gives a good showing! Let us know how your G6 fares in battery life in the next few weeks!

At the end of the work day, I'm about 45-50% through my battery. That's awesome to me. haha
That definitely isn't bad. With my work I have to charge once mid day but my usage is very not typical for most people.

Yeah I use a little Waze and a lot of voxer, social media and emails for my job. It gets me through the day and I love it.

I stream tons of HD video (Twitch, Crunchyroll, etc.) So having that all go over LTE and having brightness at 85 percent or higher during it murders the battery.. for any phone. They all charge fast though so never an issue. I usually charge while eating lunch and talking with coworkers then back to streams and tickets haha :P.
