Battery life

I'd hate to have to turn off my LED light just to get better battery light.
I want to use the brightness to bring out the characteristics of the phone.

I'm going to drop this here for the next time a person complains about the battery. I will say there are days--not many--when the battery drains faster due to overuse, but this was one of my typical usage days. Also, I am not a gamer.

As I said, I'm not a heavy user, so the screen isn't on much. Play music, listen to podcasts, the occasional text. Even now, at 09:31 it says I have 1 day left on the battery. Ambient Display is 4hrs, 47 min at 5%.

If anybody is having problems plugging in their phone to charge it.
Anker makes different size power supplies, that you can get and charge your phone if you use it a lot.
And are not near a place to charge it.

Walmart has a small one for 15.00.

Wow pretty good but damn that always on display is a huge battery drain.

It has always been a power draw since the Pixel 2XL. Nothing new.

At least the 2 XL had an LED notification light as an alternative to the battery draining AOD.

I'm getting amazing battery life on my clearly white Pixel 4 XL, how about you fellas. It was already pretty good for me since day one, but it has adapter to my usage and it's gotten way better. Check this screenshot below. 4 hours and 20 mins of SCREEN ON TIME and still have 50% left. Phone has been off the charger for 11 hours and estimate of 12 hours left. I bet I could get another 4 hours based on my usage. This isn't as good as an iphone 11 pro max, but it's much better than my pixel 3 xl. I'm super satisfied.

Well I feel foolish. I forgot I had it playing sirus xm to my Bluetooth stereo in my car while on the wireless charger with maps giving me directions to PA

5.5 to 6 hours every day on regular Pixel 4 still. Think I had one day where I only averaged about 4 hours but its pretty consistent.

I hear you on that but I expected that as everyone has gotten away from that. Coming from the original pixel and many Blackberries before that I was used to that light and would be able to glance at it quickly to see if I had anything coming in. I'm used to not having it but as you stated options are sometimes a nice thing to have

You're right! We're getting away from all of that and I suppose glancing at an AOD (just maybe not from across the room, as one could do with an LED notification) can just as easily tell you if you have a notification waiting to be opened. I too had BlackBerries so I loved that light, but times, they are a-changin'!

That's awesome! The adaptive battery on Pixel phones is really good.
